What a brave brave decision.

Already forced to use a sub in the 1st half we go in 1-0 down.

Jose makes another two tactical changes at the start of the second half, and bingo within 10 minutes 1-2 up.

The guy is a genius.

End to end stuff, great entertainment, Man U couldn't beat Reading AT HOME.

Lampard did score a good goal, but he was otherwise fairly anonymous (in my humble opinion), and I still think he'd play better if he didn't have the responsibility of the vice-captaincy.

Whoever it was that managed to stick his arm in Cech's face as he went for the ball which led to Reading's goal -- was it Doyle? -- got clean away with it last night.

Reading got their goal, Cech got the blame, the referee missed it. Come to that, so did the commentator.

Some other refereeing 'misses' have already looked very doubtful this season. Liverpool's second goal which came from a free kick which should never have been given. And last night's match (was it Birm v. Sund?) where the striker sat on the goalie to make sure, after his first save, that he couldn't prevent a second.

Frank Lampard's always been a confidence player. When he's feeling good he plays well. I don't think he's ever fully recovered from the poor World cup he had though. I hope he takes some time away from England and regains a bit of confidence. He always comes back half the player after being on international duty. Still getting the goals for us though - nice one Frank!

What i don't understand about football fans is that they go on about Lampard having a bad season last year, but he still managed to score a total of 21 goals, then when Lamps dosen't score enough goals you lot say he is an anonymous player.

Also fans go on about the fact that Lampard always attacks as he can't defend, which makes people say that Lamps should play a deeper role. Against reading on wednesday Lampard did play a deeper role still managed to score a goal and play well.

Why you people say that Lamps is anonymous and over-rated, is beyond me.

I've seen it many times and at no point does he pull out.

He may not have realised he was gonna make contact, only he knows that for sure but he certainly does not pull out.

Your team of angels don't look much like finishing top of the Fair Play league this season. winkeye

Its not lamps fault he plays gash for england, Its the coaches insistance on playing fantasy football. Lamps would be better calling it a day and concentrating on becoming a chelsea Legend, way I see it as long as England continue employing gash managers, they'll always be outplayed , no matter how many rooney's and gerrards are in the team. IMHO

I think that you will find it was one of your own players (sidwell and some other in yellow shirt) that impeded cech.

sheva7chelsea, please... we're both Chelsea fans. I can easily deal with a lot of stuff. Like bashing, criticism, provocation etc. But what I have a problem with is people putting words into my mouth, like you just did.

I haven't said a single word about my opinion about Lampard's season last year (I haven't even mentioned last season by itself). And yet you state that I'm "one of those people" who found his season to be horrid. I state that he's anonymous in one game and that the wearing of the arm-band isn't good for him. You assume that I think he's anonymous 24/7. That's nonsense, dude. I have a huge amount of respect for Lamps. I think it would be madness to drop him from the international team, I don't think he gets the credit he deserves, and I hope he stays with us for the rest of his career. Worst of all, you say that I think he's overrated, which is absolute bullcrap. Hope that cleared something up for you?

However, he WAS indeed anonymous against Reading. If you're running around doing practically nothing for almost 90 minutes, scoring one goal doesn't change the fact that you were still pretty anonymous. He was that against Birmingham as well - he had one deft touch, that was slightly accidental though. I'm asuming you didn't see the games? I was also at the stadium when Chelsea played Brøndby in the pre-season, and it was difficult not to notice how anonymous he was (paradoxically, almost).

The point is: Don't go asuming you know what people think, when you don't. And even though I admire Lampard very much, he hasn't been firing on all cylinders for quite some time.
