McShane the magnificent

Sunderland
comment on the article

How good was McShane. An absolute bargain for £1.5m.

Totally committed in every tackled and won nearly all of his tackle.

A great buy Keano. Keep it up McShane and you will help us do well this season.

Man of the match for sure.

Unlucky Spurs, but Sunderland will be team to be reckoned with season especially with Keane's background in top flight football. Spurs will still be up there no doubt and it's only the first game all to play for.

McShane was the difference between the two sides. He was magnificent and kept it really simple, old style defending at its best well done that lad. Biggest complement of all was the Berbatov substitution.
Just to let you know i'm a Spurs fan, well done Sunderland, keep the togetherness going and you can do a Reading!!

McShane has been a Ireland regular for almost a year now - he was drafted in after Ireland lost 5-2 to Cyprus (shame) and the defence has been solid since more or less - he is such a bargain, if he was English the tabloids would be drooling all over him and he'd be worth £5m a la Baines at this stage

Ha ha ho ho, a month ago when he signed, every Sunderland supporter was up in arms on this site complaining about how crap McShane was and what a waste of money he was. Being from the Republic i'd seen the last few internationals with McShane and Dunne in the heart of the new-look Irish defence was unstoppable in the games against Wales and Slovakia. McShane was the hero for both those days too. Hope you all are believers now.
OH AH Paul McShane i said OH AH Paul McShane!

I'm a Sunderland supporter living in Brighton. Down here McShane kept the Albion in the Championship two seasons ago and was eeservedly voted the player of the season. So I was delighted when he signed for Sunderland and could well be the best of the summer buys.

So you didn't think he was looking a good buy at the time?? We all did, let's face it, he had a successful tour of Ireland, and the rest of pre season, got off to a good start in the prem, it's only after that, that he's been found out.

Not worth trawling through old posts to have a pop at peoples opinions, i'm sure you don't get everything right.

I'm not mocking his opinion, because at the time people have agreed, and after all it is the distant past, I'm sure I wouldn't think this now, just shows how things change over time.
