Fifa vice-president opposes England 2018

International football
comment on the article

In a nutshell, this story is big.

Warner is believed to be very influential in Fifa circles, so could his comments dent England's chances of winning the right to host the 2018 World Cup?

The FA will undoubtedly respond. But should they now just give up on bidding for the World Cup, even if a new selection procedure, that would favour Europe, is put in place by Fifa?

Let the debate begin.

Yes they do thanks, do you teach how to be a deluded arrogant plank in your school by any choice. You criticise euro 96 but what is your actual knowledge of it? Where you in England for the tournament? Did you go to any of the games or even watch any of the games?
We're not claiming that it was the best tournament ever but it was a well run tournament. The tournament was regarded as a success and that should allow us to atleast be considered for hosting 2018.
Plus that was ten years ago and you continually ignore the fact that the organisation and security has improved. As has the grounds and facilities.
I do suppose it's far too much to suppose you have a liberal attitude towards anything English. Just keep criticising if it makes you happy.

I've lost nothing other than utter disdain for a pathetic individual like yourself. You're just a typically pathetic WUM.
England are more than capable of holding a World Cup and your 'facts' which centre around sensationalised journalism add nothing to the contrary. But it's no more than I'd expect from you.

ForzaNapole!!!,

I discussed your comments with my Italian colleagues at work today, not one of them supported your views, indeed the majority would rather take their children to a game in England than to one in Italy.

And do you know why?

Because they think that Italian football is out of control, they feel that unless you are a home fan you stand a good chance of having some form of violence directed towards you.

In fact, the one thing that they all agreed on was that the stadia in England is 2nd to none, and that of Italy is apart from a few clubs in urgent need of upgrading.

You are of course welcome to your point of view, however, your rather strange accusations about riots etc, make me feel that jealousy is the real cause of your smear on the state of English football and it's fans.

Thank god that you seem to be the exception of Italian football fans, who apart from you have always come across as fair, balanced and lovers of the beautiful game.....in fact your not a Norwich fan are you?.
