Sparky....on a slightly different topic, what is it like being part of the most fickle supporters in the Prem? You know what I mean, the way your attendances bounce up and down according to who you are playing....

Charlton fan here, let me tell you, you have got yourselves a fantastic keeper. Scott was our player of the season last season, and was one of the only players to gain some credit despite us being relegated. He is bound for bigger and better things in the future, enjoy having him this season.

Bugger that means we will beat you only 1-0, instead of 2-0 laugh

Not bad going, is he better than Gordon who knows, to be fair that ant a fair judgment, as Villa have a beter defence than Sunderland.

Gordon now has chance to prove himself as only 3-4 SPL sides are of Prem Quality the rest may not even be as good as Championship sides, so where he had 6-7 tough games he will now get 25 tough games.

Carson should do better than at Charlton, as Villa should have better defence.

If Bruce had signed Carson or Foster on loan, instead of paying £9M on Gordon, i would have been chuffed to bits!

So that says it good move!

I think it is not a good case we see Carson go out on loan again. I think he's a brilliant keeper and maybe we would need him if we have a long and heavy season again. I hope he won't take points away from us at the opening day and we could leave Villa Park with 3 points. Hope we see you back in Anfield soon, Scott!

He wont be playing.

Villa wont need him if your away form stays as it was.

Speaking as a Charlton fan I agree he was very good last year. We would have been relegated by March wihout him. I hope he does well for Villa, and he is an England goalkeeper of the future

as a liverpool fan I am delighted. I think carson is a great keeper, and at times do think he should be out number one choice, but you can't argue with reinas heroics at times. Very glad to see ofr liverpool and england that he will get first team action.

Also think aston villa will benifit no end,

all parties will benifit here, glad too see a great player not going to waste

Blackcatandrew:

Cost of Craig Gordon = £9m
Cost of new keepers gloves = £60
Still getting relegated at the end of the season because your defence is no good = Priceless laugh

That said I tipped you guys to get promotion when Keane was appointed, and actually think it will be Derby, Wigan and Birmingham at the bottom.

Getting back on topic I think it's a good move, as said by others it's less of a gamble than £9m on Gordon, and from Carson's point of view he can only get even better from working with MON and his team. Just a shame it's Liverpool that will benefit in the long run rather than ourselves, as they won't sell if he's performing at the end of the season.
