League Two 2007/08

League Two
comment on the article

The League Two season gets under way on Saturday and it promises to be another exciting campaign.

Read Paul Fairclough's preview here

Shrewsbury, starting life at their new ground, Lincoln and Milton Keynes Dons, with Paul Ince now in charge, will all expect to challenge for promotion again after missing out in last season's play-offs.

The four teams relegated from League One, Bradford, who have sold over 12,000 season tickets, Brentford, Rotherham and Chesterfield will all hope to bounce straight back.

Dagenham and Redbridge and Morecambe are set for their Football League debuts but how do you think all the clubs will get on?

Let us have your predictions for the three promotion places, who will make the play-offs and who will be consigned to the Conference next May?

darlington-"sleeping giant" laugh

come on really, nice place, nice people but really, this "sleeping giant" phrase gets banded about far too often. They get crowds of 3 thousand(!)and when we played them in the 4th didb=vision play-offs,out of a crowd of 43,000,35,000 were argyle fans, they only took 8!

I think Daggers will get promoted, they were so strong last season and they have strengthed the squad further over the summer. I see them being a bit like Colchester, not a bit club by any means but able to get promoted.

darrene6,cant see you getting promotion this season.so enjoy your first season in the league, and upset these so called big teams during the season.Look forward to seeing your boys down at Edgar st again as we know you will come to play football unlike these other teams. doubt we will have a 9-0 win against you as in 2003/04. good luck

There seems to be an asumption that teams relagated are automatic teams for promotion ,or teams that have a large financial clout are also promotion certs. This is not always the case. You have the pressure of expectation of fans & owners wanting instant promotion. Yes you all have a better chance of going up but read this .Hereford united are going to be the suprise package this season,an excellent mix of youth and experience, who love to get the ball down and play football how it should be played

Not sure whether your comments are wise or bull.

Time will tell on that one.

Top half hopefully. I like Paul Fairclough, but i think he's had long enough now to sort out a side that can challenge for at least a play off place. Barnet need consistency, we can win five or six on the bounce, but then lose eight. I know in my head as well as my heart that the Bees are good enough to challenge anyone on their day, but they need to do it every week. Saying that, as long as we do Brentford i'll be a happy man!

Its pleasing to see the mighty Hereford United proving all the pundits wrong who had us dead certs for relagation before the season started. As i have said before on here Graham Turner has assembled a good mix of youth & experience.taylor, benjamin, broadhurst ,mixed with robinson, diagouraga and the flying lionel ainsworth. I know its early in the season, but if we can stop drawing our home games, we are going to be the dark horses of the league
