Will Alonso be at McLaren next year?

With him moaning once more over the fact that McLaren 'favours' Lewis, the time has come I think where Fernando is considering his future with the team. I personally believe that an up and coming team like BMW will go in for him. If this carries on between Alonso and McLaren then expect Lewis Hamilton to have a new team mate next season. Shocking attitude from Fernando!

Hello Man-international,

I would like to clarify for all to understand with no room for interpretation what I meant.
"I understand the Spanish being sometimes offensive in the media about LH".
The issue I was reffering was for instance calling LH "ninato malcriado", this translates to maybe "spoiled brat".
What I believe you were reffering was of possible offensive comments about LH's ethnicity. I never seen any such remarks in Spanish media, certainly seen in chat rooms, I obviously can not condone any remarks of that nature not against LH but against any other person. I would like that to be crystal clear.
This year's championship has been quite entertaining but I also cannot agree with the favouring of LH in most aspects of the race, mainly car, tires and qualifying laps.
There are 3 views regarding this debate:
British view - LH is not being favoured it is actually being damaged in his changes by the team.
Spanish view - LH is a spoiled brat, cannot even drive a moped and is being favoured by McMerc, Ron and FIA and anyone else daring to talk on the subject.
Rest of the world view - LH is a great driver, FA is wolrd champion, there has been a lot of situations where LH has clearly been favoured by McMerc. We would all like to see a great championship faut by the drivers not by a team deciding who should win based on potential revenue.

Are we talking about the same Hamilton that cant drive a damn when the track is wet?? Same guy who needs a tractor to put him back on the race?
Same guy who has been learning from a 2 time champ? And who should be lucky that now Alonso has place Maclaren at the top. Why Kimmi couldnt do that when he was at Macl? Why is Renault doing awful this yr? Sounds like Alonso does have magic and has rubbed into Hamilton like a perfect glove.

Is Lewis also the same guy who has been with Macl since he was 12?
Same 22 yrs old who got to drive a top machine insted of a Benneton or Ranault? Would be great seeing him in a lesser machine!
And this guy is just a plain little rockie?
I would keep Alonso any time any day!!

There is NO CONSPIRACY to work against Alonso. but there are a lot of his fans around the world and in the media are scratching their heads and looking for reasons for his lack of pace and his driving errors. They need look no further than Alonso himself.

He is being marginally beaten, fair and square on the track on raw pace.

Tell me any other sport where the rockie would disobey top orders? What Lewis did was totally wrong. He is not a team player! He is at the top now thanks to be driving a top machine!! Let him lead the race with a Renault or Honda! He also has learned a lot from the 2 tiem wc. You can dismiss that at all. McL is at the top thanks to the arrival of Alonso. Period!

----
I find it very strange that so many people are so quick to diss Hamilton for using his head when the team ordered him to take a certain action. He didn't jusyt blindly ignore orders, he actually had a good reason and used his judgement at the given time.

thing is might be more acceptable if he had consulted the team or actually when they were calling him 6 times that he said something so that maybe they could adjust their strategy.

That would be seen as level headed, mature etc. not just a blatant willful disregard of what you have agreed to do. If alonso had done that we would all say he is arrogant etc and thinks he is better than the team, however LH done it and it shows that he is level headed etc.

Most people if asked would possibly say (i think) that he made the correct decision, however the unilateral way he did it in is possibly what is in question

How can lewis be that great when he cant drive a damn when is raining??
Explain that to all of us.

How can he be so great when he has been nurtured at Mclaren since he was 12 and now is driving a top machine? How about him winning with Honda or Renault right now? Then we can all say that he is great!
------
If you don't think Hamilton is any good how come he's still driving better than Alonso? Alonso is very good - he thought he'd walk this championship - but the new kid is better in almost all departments and has made Alonso look a plank and very very ordinary. Which is good because as much as I like F1 they all behave (see Button) as though they are superhuman and Lewis has shown they are all nothing special. Time for a salary reduction for the likes of Ralf Schumi, Button, Alonso etc... Compared to the greats of the past they're all so average aka DAVID COULTARD. Never has such a taxi driver eared so much for so long...

The debates are going a bit asqew here. ALonso will not stay at Mcmerc if LH keeps beating him. It is pure commercial sense. What is actually going on here are two things - 1. actual motive to win WDC 2. have the best marketing value. LH is severely impeding FA in both cases. Another year of the same and Alonso will be worthless to the commercial sponsors, they'll abandon him for LH. Santander are big FA fans, but LH is attracting a much younger base - you'll start seeing more of LH and less of FA soon - even in spain. The sponsors always have the last word. I'm sure Mercedes see more value in LH than FA.

until he doesn't win the WDC then their tune will change

i predict a new advert at the next race, which will ramp this hype up even further

Ive been watching f1 for decades and apart from Schumacher/irvine/barichelo years and hakinnen/courthard years, I cant recall seeing any blatant team favouring unless one driver was miles better than the other. Monaco maybe was blatant as lewis was told not to race alonso but i dont even call that favouring alonso, that was just commonsense. So how the Spanish could be so sure that lewis is being favoured is beyond me; unless the spanish have a stephany-like insider in the McLaren. Imagine ferrari employing Schumi for billions and then favouring a local protege - ! Sound likely? - If yes you must be Spanish! And I guess thats why it makes sense to you that mclaren would hire alonso and pay him millions just to humiliate him ---- get a grip!

Perhaps Alonso should move on to another team. Ferrari or BMW perhaps. there he could prove without doubt that he is the best driver and worthy world champion. It would be interesting to see another driver in the Mclaren team, Kovalainen or Kubica. I wonder how well Button would do driving for an all British team at McClaren?
A few more wet races could put a totally different spin on this years championship.
