Sanchez's Ambition

Premiership Fulham

Apparently Lawrie Sanchez shares the same ambitions as us fans. In an interview today he said that he is certain that this season we will be a lot more successful than last year.

"I would expect us not to be in the same situation as we found ourselves last season," Sanchez told BBC Sport.

He also said that he hopes to add to the signings of this summer.

"The Chairman has allowed me to spend this summer, on seven players so far and I’m hoping with a little bit more work we can get another couple in - we will have changed the Club over the course of the summer."

He is also sure that the players that he has signed will strengthen us,

"I can vouch for them. They know what the British game is all about and they're good enough to play at Fulham. They'll improve what we've got."

Sanchez added that he would be targeting a cup run alongside ensuring Premier League safety.

"The fans obviously love the Premier League and that is obviously the mainstay, but I'd like to give the fans some day outs at major cup finals."

He also stated his desire to reach Europe:

"And over the course of my time in charge at Fulham I'd like to think we'll be getting into Europe somehow, whether that be via the Intertoto, a cup final or our league position."

I for one am very excited about the upcoming season and believe in Sanchez's ability as a manager and also i believe in the signings and know they will be a success.

I think he is obviously going to recreate the style of play he used with N.I. but I fear that teams found out long ago that over the course of a season, with the level of technique there is in this league, that teams that try to play route one "wimbledon" style football get found out.

Sanchez will find out that mugging a few big international sides in qualifiers is much easier than being successful over 38 games.

Expect a few good results early on and then teams to figure you out. Then you had better hope Sanchez surprises us all with a "plan B" or you will be in trouble IMHO.

We outplayed Portsmouth in the china cup, but we lost because of an unlucky deflection knocked it into the way of a waiting striker. We screwed over south china which a liverpool struggled to break down. Sorry to dissapoint all the naysayers here, but all out players we have brought in are quality, and we are not playing long ball, but good solid short passing.
Watch out UEFA cup.

N'Zogbia and Seol both have great potential. Seol proved he is a decent player in the prem last season. N'Zogbia has yet to prove himself with only glimpses of quality, showing no real consistency

As far as i know LG, Korean brand, has requested Fulham to sign a Korean player after signing sponsorship with them and I guess Seol is one of very few Koreans that is well known.
Seol has skills and potential, I remember him playing in 2002 world cup and he was amazing.
But nowadays, he doesn't seem to be as good as he were. His biggest problem is his consistency. One week he plays amazing, next match you just want to kick him out of the pitch.
But if it is the case where Fulham has to sign a Korean, I guess Seol is the best option.

as a reading fan it will be a massive relief to get rid of seol, especially if we get £1m for him! useless!

Apart from Taylor I think that N'Zogbia is the best young player at the club and he should not be in the mood with the club he didnt play the game against Watford so what it was probabally because of when Glenn Roeder

Fulham fans..I know you guys are happy that
Nzogbia is coming to you guys. In your dreams!!! i don't think that Big Sam will let him go, because as of now, he is playing well. After watching celtic and juventus game,he was great in those games. Sorry guys, Newcastle needs him. I think you guys should go to Agentina and bring Veron back to UK...LOL>

What is Lawrie Sanchez thinking?

I have been a big admirer of his latest signings, but these two plus the recent speculations about signing Bouzza from Watford are just ridiculous!

Have we not just bought a left-sided player called 'Lee Cook' from QPR? And have we not just signed two strikers with a lot of promise?

So why then is Lawrie Sanchez after more? It would be a complete waste of money which could be better spent on either a new goadlkeeper or simply not spent at all!
