Well done Catalan Dragons, Wigan didn't show up in the first half, but that does not detract from your performance, Mogg, Chan and Jones (despite the binning) were a class apart.

I agree about O'Loughlin, but how many errors from experienced players? For for Wigan RL this year look at West Ham FC last year - only turn up against the big clubs.

I hope the french do not miss this opportunity, this could be great for french rugby and indeed anytime a big club is upset like this it is good for the game in general.

The only downside is that I can see the final being just like last years rather than the year befores - I hope the Dragons can make it a tight close final like Hull v Leeds, but hand on heart I can't see it. I hope I'm wrong.

After the way the pie eaters broke the salary cap this result is justice, at least Catalan did something the RFL didn't have the bottle to do and put Wigan down. It may mean a poor final but Wheelan and Lindsey can't buy their way out of this result smileysmileysmileysmiley

Great result for RL and not necessarily a one sided final.I sincerely hope Saints turn on the heat at wembley but catalan certainly played with some energy on sunday and showed what good coaching and enthusiasm can achieve against halfheartedness. Wigan's forwards were asleep for most of the game and leadership was non-existent. And as for man of steel..I'd rather vote for Bertie Bassett.
Nice comment re catalan representative side. don't know how plausible but would appear to make good economic sense and turn those wheels a bit faster

Im lking this idea of a national catalonian side, that would be a real inovation for sport in general, not just rugby.
I think if the catalan forward put in a performance like they did today against saints, it'll be close. Trouble is, I can't see saints making anywhere near the numbers of errors Wigan did...then again i cant see rochdale juniors making thaty number of mistakes either. Still, lets hope for an awesome final!!

As a wigan fan I watched in disbelief yesterday, particularly those first 20 minutes. That said, after my intial disapointment of not reaching the final, I think the winner in the end will be Rugby League. To have an expansion team in the final is great news for both the credibilty of the sport and for the growth of the game in the south of France.

I hope that Les Cats are able to sell their entire allocation of tickets and that they push Saints all the way. I for one will still be there, albeit a Catalan for the day!!

What a great game! The dragons putting the kosh to wigan in the first half and then a tense fight-back culminating in deft little grubber from jones straight after his binning to put the game away.
I think Ganson did a very good job of keeping the game ticking over as well, there were alot of silly mistakes and penalities which he handled correctly.
All i want now is for the dragons to turn up at wembley and give saints a good game unlike hudds last year.

he's resigned... will step down at the end of the season... big rep what he's done for the club in the past, but these past 8 years have been terrible... bye

It was a good, strong and whole-hearted performance from the Dragons, which I hope they can repeat at Wembley. (I doubt it though: such occasions are a one-off for the underdog, and that was their cup final.) However, they did play enjoyable Rugby League. It was front page news somewhere too: see www.lindependant.com. Even if that is the regional paper, it's still the main headline.

i thought it was a great game, and To be honest it serves wigan right. Too many times they Think they can Beat anyone and that they are a step above the rest, With the salery Cap results i feel their 4 point deduction and there chances at the challenge cup lost is a fair punishment.
