League One Leeds United
comment on the article

Does NOT sound promising.

They've invited senior execs of Leeds utd 2007 and kpmg.

Expect no good news.

How about all clubs don't bother paying their players? It would make life a lot easier for them.

Ultimately Leeds have broken the rules by not having a CVA and by not paying their players. They should be grateful the rules have been twisted for them to take part at all, not complain about the points deduction which will no doubt be overturned on appeal.

What a rip off Bates think he can pay pennies in the pound on the debts Leeds have he knew what the situation was when he went there, If he couldn't deal with it he should have stayed out WHY should EVERYONE ELSE pay for Leeds mismanagement. (Customs and Income Tax we all pay them why not money bags Bates)

Why is it always the supporters, who have seen there hard earned money squandered, that get punished? Why is Ridsdale allowed to continue to pay money mad, talent wasting losers like Fowler more money than Cardiff can afford? The League should concentrate on the real villains, the borrowers and open-walleted crass contract drafters who have bled the poor fans dry whilst filling their own pockets.

Dam Leeds are screwed if they dont get the 15 points reduced cause they would have to play like a team that would usually finish top 12 to stay up, cause -15 off 13th place last season would have meant relegation for them. And the seasons before it was like 11th or 10th.

This points deduction has nothing whatever to do with the 10 points deducted at the end of last season.

The nub of the issue seems to be that the Football League's rules stated that without an acceptable CVA in place, Leeds should not have been permitted to play next season, but the FL have invoked an Exceptional Circumstances clause that allows them to give Leeds permission to play, but with a points deduction.

Which would LU fans prefer? A points deduction, or being barred from the league? I know which I would pick.

You got away lighly. This 'takeover' by Bates stinks and should not be allowed to proceed. The guy is deceiving the creditors for his own financial advantage. There is no place in football for him - the sooner he is kicked out the better.

To all Leeds Fans I say that I hope that the appeal is sucessfull 15 points is the most I can ever remember - even Swindon's failures resulted in them being religated by two leagues onyl to be reinstated into the same league with no points deduction.

No we weren't reinstated to the same division. We'd won promotion to the old First Division, got demoted to the Third and on appeal only demoted to the Second.

Two things;

1 – This is the Football League not the inept FA dealing with this, although the FA do want to control all football hence the Premiership and championship as opposed to first and second division! Thank God there are still some honest souls in footballs administration.

sad people laughing at the demise of the once great Leeds united
When would the great be? 1961 – 1974? Yes they had a good spell of success spread thinly across the years, but not as good as Nott'm Forest 1978 – 1983 and where are they now without dodgy administration tactics?? The same League, lets see who gets out of it first?
