I know yes we only beat celtic thats what most will say but this has further given me real hope for optimism its great that we won convincingly minus viduka owen ameobi dyer duff emre barton etc etc and we also have hopefully more new signings to come. Well done Geremi on an impressive home debut the same to for rosenthal and also Luque with his 2 goals. I am delighted and optimistic about the new season. Hopefully more quality new signings to come and we will be ready for Bolton come August the 11th.

Finnaly the celtic fans well done they were outstanding and still outsung us when we were 3-0 down and Mcgeady Donati and Brown all impressed me for them they look an ok side and I am sure they will be fine and have another succesful season next year.

Well done Newcastle your thoughts on the game and if so what you feel the future has in stall for us. Top 4 here we come oh so I hope. Roll on Juventus I cannot wait and hopefully owen ameobi and viduka will all play some part in the match.

Mark_04, i do not believe the old firm to be particularly strong teams at the moment however i certainly dont believe Newcastle are world beaters. Infact no team outside your premiership top 4 are. Celtic and Rangers could both fight for UEFA cup spots in the Premiership.

Also, Celtic dont just get the odd result in Europe. They had a home record in European Football second to none and that includes visits from Barcelona, AC Milan, Man Utd and Juventus.

In the past 5 years Celtic have faced 3 premiership teams in European Competition and have had superior aggregate results in all 3. Blackburn, Liverpool and Man Utd.

I hope Newcastle do well however i do worry for them. Once again they find themselves managed by someone who isn't capable of delivering what the fans want. Souness, Roeder and now Big Sam, a man that was beaten to a job by Steve Mcclaren!!!!!

I doubt very much that Martins is actually 22 years old...looks more like 27 or 28 to me. lol

I think Newcastle fans are right to be optimistic for the new season. They have got their 2 main strikers to sign new deals and hopefully Owen can get into shape for the new season. They have a decent manager now who will make good signings and knows the importance of strengthening the defence and doesn't buy overated players that flop the second they get here.

I think Newcastle enemies are right to be optimistic for the new season. Thez have got their 2 small strikers to sign over the top deals and hopefully Owen can grow in size for the next season. They have a half decent manager now who will make too many signings and knows the importance of weakening the defense and does not buy underrated players that flop the second they get here.

I think Arsenal should go for Obafemi Martin NOW! if thay want to have hope of taking the second position ahead of Man U to stay closer to chelsea for the premiership title.
