With the news that the Court of Arbitration in Sport is now to hear the case, rather than FIFA, is it reasonable to be concerned that a quick clean end to the Tevez saga is now in doubt?

Does anyone have any idea on how long this body takes to hear a case?

And if Carlitos is still in limbo come 31 August, can we hope that he will honour his contract with us, at least until the transfer window re-opens?

while i can remember 1966 i can also remember

us being very lucky

- with the draw

- with the the indulgent refs

- watching the Brazilians ( and Pele ) being assaulted in shifts

- Geoff hurst never ever played as well

- the Argentinians losing their rag

- watching nobby stile get away with tackles that would see him in the stands after 20 minuets

- a team with some very ordinary players ( Cohen, peters, even hurst and hunt)

Most of which can equally be applied to Argentina in '78 and Italy in the 30's.

how can the pl ratify the tevez deal when what they are going to be looking at is exactly what sheff utd has been saying is wrong with the case and if they do come to the conculsion that the deal can go ahead ,it proves that the decision in apiril was flawed

the PL can ratify the deal as long as

- it is fiscally transparent

- no third party influence

anyway they a allowed the WHU deal and the Liverpool deal so those are the precedents

"how can the pl ratify the tevez deal when what they are going to be looking at is exactly what sheff utd has been saying is wrong with the case"

Thats incorrect. Sheffield United are insisting some 3rd party influence still exists. West Ham have only ever claimed to own the players registration, MSI have always owned the player (nothing against PL rule sthere please note). MSI are effectively 'buying' the registration from West Ham, they can then arrange for him to go wherever. SU would have had a case if MSI dictated to the league the conditions, but by sticking to their guns, WH have demonstrated everything that was required of them by the league

What a cop-out!
MSI dictated to WHU the conditions, WHU just passed them on as their own to the PL!

Apparently WHU get £2m out of the deal & MSI get the rest - How can the PL suggest that the deal was 'done' with WHU when they're just carrying MSI's pencil-case?
