like us it seems the state of the current transfer market means you've had to pay over the odds for a striker. In my opinion both kamara and mido should both be in and around the £4million bracket. However as we did it seems as if you're going to be paying £6million for him. What are your birmingham fans' views on the signing of mido and the cost of signing him?

Hard to believe there's a race for Mido...now, a race to avoid getting lumbered with him is more like it.

malfactor hits the nail on the head. Who wants him ? 6mill as well, that's really top end. Who pays for it and all the wages ? That's right, we do - the fans !!! Get real with these players and agents before English football blows itself up like Italian football has in the past decade !!! Let him stay at Spurs and buy him a dummy so he can spit it from the bench.

For all this, Everton need a striker like now but 11m for Hesk... sorry Yakubu c'mon get real. Takes a good penalty. Didn't we just get rid of someone like that ? Goodbye glamour boy !!

I can't believe this.

all interested in a clown called Mido?!!

These managers have confirmed what I thought about them ...... desperate and clutching at straws.

First prize .... no Mido
Second prize ... no Mido

Booby prize ..... Mido

No doubt Jol is saying his prayers tonight, hoping that some prat will sign him.

Next manager's job that becomes vacant, I think I'll apply.
I'm as daft as all these buggers!!

Only takes a good penalty does he? Is that why he is 2nd only to Thierry Henry in the Premiership goalscoring charts over the past 4 seasons? Think about what you say before you say it.

it does seem coincidental that now that Everton have stepped up the chase for yakubu, that boro are putting in a bid for mido. If they were planning on keeping the yak and improving their strike force, then why are they only now doing it one day before the new season. I really hope everton can sign the yak and fernandes as this would improve our title chances.

no way worth £6m but we desperately need another striker who can bag at least 10 goals and he'll do that. I'd rather pay £6m for Mido than Smith or Bellamy. And why's there so much negativity about Yakubu on this site? He's bagged 15+ goals every season in the prem...how rubbish is that!!!??? steam

Down with the Derby, whoever signs him is going down with the Derby!

We've always been looking for a 3rd striker for ages. Look how close we were to Smith before Newcastle came in. That was before the reported interest of Yakubu.

Southgate has just kept most of his real targets quiet until he is close to signing them. Aliadiere took a while because he was on holiday, but there was nothing about him before the fee was agreed after the January attempt to sign him, and I was surprised we went back for him.

Tuncay was a day or so before we agreed terms with him, and only the work permit and other issues delayed that going through quickly. Young was only announced as a target after we agreed the fee, and a couple of days later was signed. Woodgate agreed to join us in January, yet it was only announced in April/May time.

Even Smith was only announced as a target after the fee was agreed, it's not like Arjen Robben and Real Madrid, where the chairman there announced he wanted to sign him a season ago, and has tried to keep his promises.

Plus, looking at Spurs, everyone thought Spurs would sell Defoe after signing Bent, but neither Defoe nor Spurs wanted to sell him. Having 4 good strikers is practically a must now in the Premier League.

Mido used us to get other clubs involved in his purchase. i think ghally did the same too but realised no one else wanted him and threw his dummy out of the pram. as said before Mido just wanted to attract attention to himself and start a bidding war. both think they're better than they actually are. would of liked to have seen Mido but dont think it will happen now. he thinks he's something special . probably better without him. pair of trouble makers and babies.
