A British Champion's League winner???

European Football Manchester United
comment on the article

Manchester United have signed 3 players worth £52 million with another player reportedly on his way. All this in search of a third European cup. Chelsea have been quiet in the transfer market this summer with Flourent Malouda their only major signing of the summer. Liverpool have appeared in two Champions League final's in the past three years with a squad that were nowhere near capable of winning the Premiership now they have a quality striker. Celtic and Rangers don't really have the squads to mount a full-scale assualt on the trophy. Arsenal have sold their best player so they have no chance of winning the trophy Wenger wants the most. Or do they? It's another season of hope but at the end of the season will that hope be justified for one of our home clubs?

The true challenge for Liverpool this season is to defend resoulutely AND score goals away from home in the Premiership.

Tactically, Rafa has got things correct in the Champions League, where organisation, control of the channels and pressing the ball in defence, combined with swift counter attacking confuses defences used to a slower tempo.

However, their ability to control Premiership games away from Anfield, where skill and tactics play second fiddle to athleticism and staying power, is the bigger test. Until Liverpool can beat teams in the lower half of the league on their patch consistently, the Premiership will elude them.

The real question for fans is: Possession of which trophy brings the greater bragging rights?

Simply whichever trophy the team have not won.

For Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd they desire the European Cup more and Liverpool the Premier League.

Well,in Europe we consider pedegree not quality.Liverpool with no dought wether u like it or not the most sucessful team in England and in Europe. In 2005, it lifted Europe's precitgious award with a squad that was not the macth to Milan, last year, you can tell.In short, its the only team in England that has Europe's marcth so get raedy. It may be a nightmare to whoever will come into its way.Man u get ready 2 surrender the premiership coz i think Anfield is their ancentarl home

Liverpool should do the best out of the english teams,

They will be 20 points behind Man U and Chelsea at the end of the season,

So they will be able to rest players for big euro nights!!
