Now which team committed needless fouls? Was it Brazil or Argentina?

Wow a team win 3-0 against the 'greatest' in the world and still get ridiculed. Was i the only person that thought the way in which brazil stroked the ball around was impressive and look like beautiful football. One touch passing, quick movement and incredibly quick on the break. Just because they didnt pass it back and forth 20 or 30 times to score a goal does not mean the football wasnt good to watch. Infact almost every time they did go forward they looked like scoring, whereas Argentina played with no width, no creativity and were shown for what they really are. Sure they can beat the badly organised, weaker teams who are chasing the game (and commiting more men forward) but when it comes to a better organised team they fail.

I agree with you friend. Brasil still plays the beautiful game but in flashes. Why play all the intricate passes where things can be done in lot simpler way. In the end, a die hard Brasil fan I would like to see them win. This team is built for explosion.....agreed they had trouble playing as a team at the start of the tournament but everything fell into places at the right time. There is still work needs to be done in the defense and midfield. Alex played better as the tournament progressed. With Ronaldinho and Kaka back, this would be the team to beat again in 2010 World Cup!! VIVA BRASIL FOREVER!!

Like the way you all cry like babies when tackled hard and dive into penalty box to win games. Italy plays ugly football, so pathetic to watch....so defensive!! Even your top clubs are good because of the South American contingent!!

I'd rather see my team win it regardless of how they play other than play an amazing game and lose it. Brazil had tried the passing game in the 80s and won nothing. England is so proud of their long ball football and have won nothing.

As long as they find the winning formula I don't care how they win be it Liverpool, Chelsea, Brazil or England. Ask any Argentine fan now and I am sure they would be happy to have won the match on penalties with a help from the referee to top it up. Against your biggest rival you just want to win.

Who's being arrogant now?
I dunno what's more arrogant: a ManU or a brazilian fan after a victory.
They both cry like babies when they loose though

Arrogant eh? Well I wouldn't know about MU (although given that they didn't do as well as expected losing out on the FA and the Champion's League they don't really have much to be arrogant about...) but I can tell you that Argentinos, generally speaking, have never lacked self-confidence or unshakeable belief in the destiny of their sacred Albicelestes. Before and throughout most tournaments that is - until they lose to a Germany or a Brazil...

Besides, Brazilians don't usually cry when they lose - they just usually join the winners in their party and have a good time. Argentinos and their supporters, will mope and complain about the team, the officiating, the broadcast commentary and of course the defeat of good versus evil in the galactic battle for the soul of football.

Poor, poor pibes and their tragic football. You will wear the glass slipper again one day...

There are lots of jokes/sayings about Argentinians in Spain.

One of them is the following:

Question:
What's the best business in the world?

Answer:
Buy an Argentinian for what he's worth, and sell him for what he says he's worth.

let's settle something right away, Brazil is the #1 soccer nation in the world with the best quality soccer players produced. True soccer fans should acknowledge this and embrace it.
Just imagine the Spanish or Italian leagues without Brazilians or, worse yet, imagine the world cup without Brazil.
The 1982 team could (should) have won the Cup had they been a bit more fortunate against Italy. Granted, ever since, playing beautiful football and winning became an impossible combination and Brazil is the last to blame for that, it's the Italina defensive scheme which was developed precicely to counter creative offensive play like that of Brazil, and was adopted by most of the workd that got us here. The fear of loosing, not the desire to win.
Argentina should have nothing to be ashamed of, they have 14 coppa America titles to 8 of those for Brazil, yet they will always suffer the inferiority complex twards Brazil.
I have renewed respect for Dunga, not for winning the coppa but for dedicating the championship to the Brazilian worker...how about that.

Abu-Walid,

Argentina does have a proud footballing tradition, no doubt. I think what should worry them is that they have not won a World Cup since 1986 and a Copa America since 1993. This current generation is not a generation that is short on talent. I would also add that there is more than sufficient talent to build the next generation: Messi, Aguero, Gago, Banega, Higuain... The question that begs is: where are the results?

What the Copa final manifested one more time is that the notion of controlling the game is a commendable tactical objective in and of itself, but creating an taking opportunities is far more effective.
