FulhamIreland (U8847566) posted Jul 15, 2007 coleman exceeded all expectations in his first reign as a top flight manager. every year we were tippied for the drop but cookie produced the goods. hopefully sanchez will do good but over all coleman is better or at least has the potential to be better and will become wales manager sometime in his career as manager.

fulhamirish (U8331902) posted Jul 16, 2007 Cookie did very well for his first 3 years but then everything went bad and stale...should have been removed 2 years ago....we only survived last year by pure luck....I am willing to give LS a chance...he appears to have brought in some decent players....but he needs to off-load all the rubbish (ie Christanval/Ellrich/Elliot) and the uncommitted (ie Quedrue/John)....priority this year.....STABILITY........DREAM...A TOP TEN FINISH

sweetalkinguy (U2233367) posted Jul 16, 2007 All depends on Fayed. It is well known that he has sunk more than £100 million into the club, which he owes elsewhere. If he comes under cash pressure, it could be another Leeds United scenario in the making. Seemingly Coleman moved on because he was not backed with cash. How long will Sanchez stay if he gets the same. He seems alright at the moment, but there is a long season ahead with many clubs at the same level who have been splashing similar cash. If Fulham are to rise, you have to identify which clubs are going to fall, and it is not obvious that sufficient are. There will still be a group there or thereabouts on the fringes of relegation and Fulham will be one of them. It might come down to a run of results, good or bad.

U6961325 posted Jul 16, 2007 Fulham have taken the saying spend to survive to the extreme this close season. But he is not panic buying at all. He has signed experienced players, most of which have played in the Premiership before. He has signed NI players because he knows them inside out and how to get the best out of them. Are you telling me that if Steve McDonkey became manager of a high profile club, he wouldn't try to sign the likes of Downing from Boro?

bishopspark (U2262191) posted Jul 17, 2007 I like Coleman too. He was given little money and little chance, but he kept Fulham in the top flight. What he needed was an older mentor to guide him, somebody like Bobby Robson, to improve his tactical skills. It was obvious that away from home Fulham floundered. Had their away record been average for the Premiership they would have been much more comfortably placed Comment on this article
