Flintoff hopes to be fit for the O.D.I'SOne-day internationals England by juniorwaughisgod (U7461313) 14 July 2007 I have just read that Freddie Flintoff hopes to be fit for the oneday internationals against India. The question I ask to the English fans is that ain't it too early for him to return for the onedayers? When you think that he has already had three operations on his ankle won't it be better if he returns for the winter series England have?I can remember here McGrath who wanted to comeback into the side within three or four months after he had a ankle surgery but he was rested for a year before he cameback against Srilanka and the ankle didn't trouble him after as he went on to play for three more years but I thought Freddie was rushed into action a bit too early last year after he had ankle surgery. OldRegret (U6882370) posted Jul 14, 2007 It is just stupid for him to be rushed back. He has been bowling at around 80% for ages and he stinks up the place with the bat just now. He needs complete rehab for his ankle.

U3238270 posted Jul 14, 2007 Flintoff has been rushed back too soon in the past. The selectors should avoid repeating this mistake. I say let him rest for the remainder of the season. With his tendency to succumb to this type of injury, it is best to err on the side of caution.

tarsky35 (U1870971) posted Jul 22, 2007 The next time freddy should contribute to england should be in Colombo. The Twenty20 World Cup is not something he has to be back for, but the test series is. If he misses the Twenty20 and gets a couple of county games for Lancashire under his belt in that time he will be better prepared to cope with the stresses of touring Sri Lanka Comment on this article
