Stage 7

OK, it's a lot harder than any of the previous stages but it's by no means an Alpine monster of a stage. The peloton could remain fairly tightly bunched until the final climb - there are only 2 category 3 climbs and one category 4 climb, and none of these climbs have a descent right after them, so this isn't really conducive to a massive breakaway. A couple may escape but I don't think any big names will make a move.

The pace will start to get faster on the Colombiere (the final climb) but I don't think any of the big names will be putting in very aggressive attacks, they'll only be sizing each other up on this first mountain stage.

The leading names could well finish in a bunch, and as someone has already said on 606, if Millar can hack the pace over the only "serious" climb, the Colombiere, he could yet wear le maillot jaune for a day...

The jury is still out on Vino, hard to tell what shape he's in. It looked like a cross he made on stage 6 rather than a cut-throat sign, mais c'est dommage pour lui...

Thank you Lowlandbrit.

That accounts for the nine missing riders then?

But what about Ruben Elvira (Saunier Duval)? Have I got it wrong about him - it's just that one of the webites I monitor shows him out, and so does the list of today's finishers. Another one I look at is American but I guess they're hours late with the news in Europe.

Thanks.

Ruben Elvira (Saunier Duval) is actually Ruben Elvira Lobato (Saunier Duval), so you haven't missed him.

Thank you Lowlandbrit.

I just checked with velonews.com who use slightly different names (occasionally) to steephill.tv. It's confusing.

By the way despite my choice of username I am a CSC fan. I'm tracking the progress of Kurt-Asle Arvesen.

Good luck with that, I'm following Amets Txurruka (I've made a thread and everything).

There's nothing on BBC1 to Channel 5 analogue. ITV 4 on Freeview is the only English channel unless you have British Eurosport with SKY. International Eurosport with English commentary is essentially free though if you have an old 90's Analogue Satellite receiver and point your dish to Astra 19.2E.

If you have Broadband ADSL here's some links to watch it for free on your PC:

Damn it. Eurosport's URL is too long for this forum. Here's a more tiny one:

Thank you.

I have ITV4 but have never seen it live on there besides the two UK stages.

Sorry, you can only contribute to 606 during opening hours. These are 0900-2300 UK time, seven days a week, but may vary to accommodate sporting events and UK public holidays.
