Not good business in my opinion, could have gotten better players for that value, hes francis jeffers standard, and jeffers would have cost 1 million. Im not so sure how shrewd a purchase this is my mackem pals.

£5m might seem expensive but he scored more goals than Nugent did last season.

Great bit of business for Cardiff...

1,000% profit in a year!

I think you chaps are forgetting a few things...
Is he worth 5m?
From the Bluebirds point of view; emphatically yes.
From the Black Cats point of view; you won't know until the end of the next season.
His value to the Black Cats won't be as a first team regular. It will be as a player that can unsettle a team with his slightly unorthodox style of striking.
Will the other Prem defenders be able to cope? Yes, more than likely, but he has a method of playing which is way too good for the Championship. And lets face it, there are a few defenders in the Prem that have come from the Championship.
I think you Sunderland chaps will get a pleasant surprise from Chopra...
I will watch with interest.

To the spurs comment..Mido is fat and slow..Defoe couldnt score if his life depended on it..so 4th best..

Chopra is better value than Nugent.
1. Scored more goals
2. Cheaper
3. Experienced Newcaste, what has Nugent experienced...

while we're on the subject of which championship striker is best value for money, how about a striker with 29 international goals, including the winner against england and a hat trick against spain. arise sir david healy, a snip at 1.5 million. at last he's playing in the prem where he belongs!

You SMB's were spot on when you said Roy Keane is going to be a great manager.....a sign of a good manager is planning for seasons ahead....and thaty is what Roy Keane has just done. £5 million for a striker who will no doubt be top scorer in the Championship the season after next!!! haha

Eqasiest six points we'll ever get next season.

Just concerned Chopra may emulate Jon Stead- equal no. of goals in 05-06 season and track record of scoring at SOL before signing as a home player!
