comment on the article

He will not win it again, he will burn out. He will be thrashed on grass. The streak will not last long.

Three years later he won three slams, he has the longest winning streak on clay, he has been to two finals on grass and was finally beaten by a bad schedule and fatigue, I can count the number of masters he has won on both fingers. He has a winning record against the current number 1. He has become a better player than the world number one, all he needs is a serve and some perfection at the net.

They ask why is he number 2?

Because he cant do it alone, his opponent is feeding off points from the previous year each year, the rest of the ATP cant beat his rival, therefore he always gets to finals leaving Rafa to take care of business on his own. A journey man in the era of lions came back from a ban to help but his rival has managed to avoid him due to "lucky" draws in the last three tournaments.

Sorry about my initial pessimistic remark, after all he is Rafa and whether he knows it or not, after each performance he proves doubters wrong.

Get well Murray, wake up Thomas, step up Novak and fulfill your potential Gasquet because contrary to believe Rafa is only human.

Cheers.

"Cocteau, we shall drink to that."

So you're now toasting yourself, with one glass in each hand?

Call the men in white coats, we've got a schitzo!

yeah, a bit of perfection always comes in handy. It's not much to expect is it doh

Except for Federer that is magic

I'm just trying to work out how you can have "some perfection" Something is either perfect or it isn't - just like you can't be "slightly dead" or "a little bit pregnant"

COCTEAU TWIN

You claim that Federer has won his last Slam.

Who will defeat Federer the 04,05,06 US champ in September?

Personally think that Nadal may experience a drop in form like last year given his recent gruelling schedule.

Answering my own question after a little thought, feel Djokovic could be Federer's biggest threat in New York.

With a little help from the schedule of course. smiley

Just give it to him now, there's nobody will stop him at the USO or AO. Only on clay or the pseudo-grass (compacted clay really) of Wimbledon is there any question.

Every Time before Federer plays,
they say the Transitional no.1 is a choker, who will get a breadstick and bagel from a qualifier, but yet the Transitional No.1 wins despite not playing at his best, and the guy the Trolls call No.1 chokes when it really matters.. because it was then we all saw.. Federer at the best.

These trolls only need a way to criticise Federer. Only a champion can serve the way Federer served to save the match. Only a Champion can win a break when it really mattered. By no means I degrade Nadal as he played like a champion to win the French, and came very close to win the Wimbledon.
But the fact remains that as it stands now, Federer is the best.

This is a horribly written article... "They said no man could have one ridiculously large bicep." It's a cross between the chippily defensive and the genuinely deranged.
