Tevez Is On His Way - 855 Comments

Premiership Manchester United

Fifa and Football Association legal representatives will meet on Monday to discuss the Carlos Tevez saga.

Manchester United and West Ham have asked world football's governing body to settle a dispute over who owns the Argentine striker.

Tevez is registered as a West Ham player, but businessman Kia Joorabchian claims he owns the striker's economic rights and is therefore entitled to any transfer fee.

However, the Hammers ripped up an agreement they had with Joorabchian - which broke league rules - and they now claim any deal with United can only go ahead with their say-so.

The Premier League is also insisting that any fee must go to West Ham.

This whole affair seems to be dragging on a bit. Is there anyone who can step by step enlighten us on this matter? Will he be stayin at West Ham, move to United or even move elsewhere? Many people argue his play is too similar to Rooney for him to fit in, but i'm sure SAF will work his magic and create a formiddable force was he to come to us. Also, if it does turn out West Ham don't own the player, then the whole Sheffield United issue will creep back in again. Surely it's too late for them to be re-instated but maybe a compensation sum will be agreed? If so, would they be right in asking for the fee to be around the same value as what the player is?
Your thoughts on the matter............

"Must have the ugliest strike pairing in history with this ogre and Rooney playing together."

by 21diouf.

Who cares what they look like! Add Ronaldinho and you'd have three of the ugliest players in the world. But who would want to play against them?

Tevez would fit into United brilliantly and has already proved he can handle the Premiership - fingers crossed that we get him!

Tevez and Joorabchien have made a good attempt at stitching up the Hammers. west Ham own the player's registrattion and should make totally sure that their plan to use WHU as a shop window to the richer premiership clubs fails.
The player should only be sold to a foreign club, and the agent/owner who entered into the dodgy deal with Terry Brown should have to sue for any part of the fee.
Any less than this would confirm that the 3rd party agreement is still in force and that a points deduction was justified, as would have been a further ban for Tevez at the end of the season.
3rd party agreement torn up?! Funny Smell, like a field full of cows, eminating from Upton Park!!

Just what does 'economic rights' mean anyway? I remember Cantona wanting to retain economic rights over the use of his name but this doesn't seem to be the same thing. Do MSI own Tevez and have the right to say where he plays (which patently would not be good for the game) or is it purely to do with a cut in his earnings?

If United get Tevez he could be a great player for them. One Argentine in, one out, maybe? It looks like the Heinze issue is heading for litigation.

Now that Kia has moved things to the HIgh Court it is only a matter of time before the board of directors of the Premier League will have to resign, UNLESS they have the balls to throw West Ham out of the Premiership and reinstate Sheffield United.

Well that's it then. Final proof, if any was needed, that the PL, West Ham, football, and a large proportion of fans and those connected with the game are corrupt unsporting cheats who care little for the game.

What was the last staement from the PL, along the lines of -Tevez will only be allowed to join Man U if West Ham get the bulk of the transfer fee.

Now I'm not that good with this maths thing, could someone tell what percentage 2 of 30 is? Is it very much? 80% perhaps?

West Ham are cheats but hey if they can get away with it why not.
