De Ridder signs!!!

Premiership Birmingham City
comment on the article

He has signed a three year deal earlier this morning on a free transfer from Celta Vigo. What a cracking signing, and what a squad we are gradually developing. Fair play to Brucey and Blacky, they are really pulling out all the stops!!!I'm excited about the new season, and we still have more signings to come.KRO

He had a good championships but what else has he done? Its like Salif Diao had a good world cup we all saw what he did for Liverpool. Lots of foreigners going to Birmingham, nothing wrong with that just think British players represent less of a gamble.

Nice to see us buying players, heard we are still after another Striker for £4-£5M Harewood anyone (no thanks), we dont need anymore attacking players! Hesky would be better buy, or kamara from WBA.

I really dont fancy our chances!

Ok we got some good attacking football and thats gona help out in the Championship but in the Prem No Defence = Relegation Battle.

Its nice to have like 11 Strikers (and play most of them in Midfield) I do think Steve is lossing the plot! What next buy Nugent as a Left Back!

What i mean is we play strikers out of position how many goals did, McSheffrey, Vine, Jerome Score for their other club loads and loads how many for blues not many!

I dont know about Vine but you put McSheffrey upfront with Andy Johnson and watch the goals go in, but England will always be Roony/Crouch/Wallcot/Defoe!

Theres a lot of talk about getting rid of Jonty
but he is a hard worker! Our main worry is Defence who we brought in nowt! how many Defenders can play at Prem Level 2-3 Tops!

I think Bruce has done a great job and we only went down due to a really bad injury hit season, and Portsmouth having some lucky games against sides resting players.

But this time our Defence is a major concern!

Banjokids right about focusing on defence! But not about Heskey!!!!!

De ridder has pace and flair from the youtube videos and is exactly the young player we need.

Well done Bruce!

I Agree he looks good! Lets hope he is not another one of Bruce's Crockers!

Oh about Heskey!!!!! i was refering to blues
planning on Harewood i recon Heskey would still score as many goals for us as Harewood would! The £4-£5M Harewood would cost could be used towards another proven striker!

I am not saying Heskey is worth 4M but i bet he could be brought for £2M or less!

I would rather buy Carlton Cole for cheap, or
Kamara from WBA, blues should make a £8M Scoop
for Koumas, Kamara and Robinson!

Great job Brucey
Not only have you taken us to the Premo but some great signings so far. We now have, in my opinion, a fantastic midfield with the likes of McSheffrey, larsson, Muamba and now De Ridder as well. Some nice bargains on De Ridder and Kinston as well. Kingston if anyone has seen is an excellent, unique goalie and i was over the moon when i saw Birmingham had got him. I also hope Olivier Kapo was worth the money, which I'm sure he is baring in mind he's a French international! Keep up the good work Bruce, a couple more good signings and we're well on the way to a successful season!
