Reo-Coker

Aston Villa
comment on the article

Am a blues fan here, who is not anti- Villa other than in a competitive way and is not on the wind up. But as an observer I am gob smacked that you have sold Davis (a player I would have loved us to sign) and paid twice that money for Reo-Coker.

I would personally rather have Davis, what do Villa fans who know about Davis more than me think?

Another shame. NRC is nothing more than a boxer in midfield, nothing special. He's even older than Fabregas but not an inch as good. Another signing for a midtable finish. Nonsense!

Reo- Coker will be a brilliant asset to Aston Villa. He will strenthen their midfield and hopefully drive Villa to success.

Same class as Fletcher? You really are a muppet. Funny that Ferguson has stated that he has no intention of selling Fletcher despite the plethera of midfield talent at United, yet Alan Curbishley couldn't wait to get Reo-Coker out the door. Now tell me who is the better manager and is better placed to make a judgement like that?

Also how can you call somebody "shockingly bad" yet claim they are worth 4 Million. If they are shockingly bad then surely they shoud be sold for a hell of a lot less than that?

And trust me, as a Rangers fan, I have seen first hand what Martin O'Neil can do with what everyone calls average players. Perhaps he would have got some decent performances out of England...possibly.

I for one am pleased we have signed NRC.
Most of these people going on about him whinging are merely believing what they read in the press.
Besides, how often do you sometimes have a moan about your job? It's effectivley the same kind of thing except its not over elloborated by the rags.
Lets Judge him by what he does in the next few seasons. This is a new beginning for him. Lets welcome him Villa fans and unite behin MON and Randy. After all, they want the same as us.

To all accusing WHU fans of whingeing, the complete background and view may be salient:-

- NRC indeed had a wonderful 2005/6 season culminating in him being touched off by a last minute wonder goal from being the youngest winning captain of an FA Cup Final. FAns won't forget that

- Unfortunately neither will they forget that being the captain of a side, the guy had responsibilities when things were not so good, when his form dipped and he was still in a sulk about not being allowed to speak to another club interested. He may have been giving 110%, but this affects you at the highest level, and as captain he has a more focused degree of accountability. In life you take the good and bad from such a privileged position.

- NRC will, in time, I'm sure reflect on his 'hung out to dry' comments as foolish. He will also reflect that he listened to his agent too much, who has clearly engineered this transfer from his own commercial perspective. Who can forget the tumbleweeds that followed the comment "Nigel would like to go to Man Utd or Arsenal"....

- ....just as Paul Ince has acknowledged that wearing a Man Utd shirt ahead of his deal with them was wrong and Jermain Defoe has also admitted that asking for a transfer the day after you're relegated was not the best thing to do (both occurrences, the players say, were engineered by agents promptings). Believe it or not, fans get angry at this..!

- I was pleased when we signed Nigel and I think if he gets his head down at Villa he will mature into a good player for them. But to do this he must avoid playing the hard done by, and get his agent to work to his bidding, not the other way around. His agent's influence, I think, has been the key to his untenable position at WHU, not his own persona and the performances he gave at the club in general.

Young players, take note!!

Cheers
Spa

irishbjj what are you on about ?? he has just made a fantastic investment in NRC and Young is a young forward with a great future in the game. Petrov was not used to the pace of the prem after so many years in a mickey mouse league but i am certain will turn out to be a driving force behind our push for Europe./

Having said that, i agree with you about the unachievement. I cannot face us having another rubbish season again. for a club our size weve been underachieving so long.

There is no way that Reo Coker is £4.5m better than Davis. Reo-Coker was blamed for West Ham's malaise - Davis was Villa player of the season recently.

Poor old nigel,

he cant trap a bag of cement, and fills the players lounge with 20 blinging mates, but cant be bothered to sign autographs for the kids.

I thought Reo Coker was going to leave West Ham for a "top" club. That was why he threw a strop last season, and make no mistake, he DID sulk. Well Well Nigel but I didn't exactly hear that ANY of the top 4 remotely were interested. And no disrespect intended but Villa arent exactly top bling are they? Hope you've learnt a valuable lesson. You werent "hang out to dry" at all. You have a higher opinion of yourself than others are prepared to give.
