Will Stewart Milne give any of that money to Calderwood to buy at least one player,Hopefully a decent striker as the mIghty Robert Fik turned down the chance.

Or does it go into Milnes Bulging bank account...!!!

What a ridiculous post above. There is NO comparison between Scott Brown and Russell Anderson.

Scott Brown is a player of quality...always has been and always will be....Ok I've been slagging off Celtic for signing Hibs B Team....but come on...

Anderson isnae even in the same bracket as Scott Brown.

Hence why u got 1million for Anderson.

What a joke. Aberdeen finish 3rd for the first time in yeeeeeeeeears and suddenly u expect to be paid millions and millions for over rated players like Russell Anderson!!!!!!!!

ha ha ha ha!

Baaa baaaa baaaa baaa!

Listen Jambo, get yourself onto your own boards. Just beacause none of your players are good enough to go to the Premiership and turn their back on you for the Old Firm don't be bitter about it. By the way I was looking at some flats recently and I'm gonna be buying one in a couple of years - right on your centre circle pal! Your going down like a russian submarine

All I can say is good luck to Russell Anderson and I am sure he will be a massive hit in the premiership for Sunderland. Hopefully down south he’ll prove to Big Eck once and for all that he is a far superior player to mistake-a-game-McManus, Webster, Pressley and Weir. The big man has been nothing short of phenomenal for us in the last 4 years and whilst his departure leaves a massive hole in our squad, I don’t think a single Don will begrudge him the move.
Diamond and Considine have some pretty big boots to fill, McNamara’s presence should soften the blow and Super Seve will only get better with the added responsibility of Captain. The £1m wont mean that we make any big signings, but I would try and get Markus Heikkenen back for free and should Milne sell his wigs to finance a deal I would put it all into getting Riordan away from the celtic bench. Even without Anderson I still reckon we have enough to make the UEFA group stages AND challenge for the title. Kaunus B team boy better get his paddle out, those boys had an open top bus for finishing third and beating an amateur team on pens!

Good Luck to Russell, everybody knew it would happen.

Club will not replace a man like Russell easily, but Jimmy will have to be given some funds to add experience at the back.

As for stupid Jambo comments compairing Brown and Anderson, Brown is a young lad and Anderson is 29. Brown has couple of years left on contract, Anderson had one year. Hence differwnt fees. Also Brown has much to prove that he is in same class as a player and person as Russell. After all Russell, stayed with his side and did not jump ship for first big contract, Russell has played over 350 games for his home team, giving everything to the cause. Maybe is 10 years comparrsions could be made but not now. Anderson is a top class player and very professional footballer. Brown may be a greta player in the making, but his recent behaviour, shows he is not in Russell's class as a professional footballer!!

It is sad to see Russ go but with european football and some great footballers probably available on free transfers sureley we could get a decent centre half in and use some of the money for his wages!! Its got to be someone with bags of experience, reliable, doesnt make too many errors and tough as an ox....so the complete opposite to the alternatives for centre halfs in the squad. We need to replace this huge amount of class with at least someone of a similair pedigree not fill it with players who found it hard playing in Russel`s shadow last season!! This is a huge step back for us and it would cost us 10 times the £1million fee we received to amend it...i know it was always on the cards but i am truly concerned..

Good luck to Anderson. He has been a great servant and leader to the club. It was inevitable he was going to leave at one point and anyone with any ounce of ambition would have done the same. Not to mention the fact that he will probably get 5 times the money he was at the Dons. Hopefully now he will get his chance with Scotland as its an absolute discrace he isn't regularly one of the first on the Scotland team sheet everytime.

Its now time for Severin to step up and grab the responsibility. He shines everytime i watch him play and is as good as any other midfielder in the SPL. WITHOUT A DOUBT!

Let's be honest- Anderson stayed by this club far longer than most players of his calibre would have. But to say that his loss alone is going to result in poor performances by the Dons is a bit of an insult to the team. At the end of the day, it wasn't Big Russ that is soley responsible for the european qualifications.

Diamond seems to have peaked already, but Considine was like Anderson's understudy. Who knows, maybe our own homegrown talent can step up and fill his shoes!

Best of luck to Anderson though, i reckon he'll do fantastic in the premiership

Firstly I think Anderson a very good SPL defender, possibly one of the best Scottish defenders about just now actually.

I think £1M is a lousy offer, that we accepted it tells you all you need to know about ambition for next season.

As for Premiership I think Anderson will do OK, he will get a hard time from the very best players but Dailly and Weir seemed to have made OK careers for themselves in England and they are nowhere near as good as Anderson.

1 Mill is nothing , surely we could have got more , Good luck to him but we need the Board to give us all of the Million for reinvestment in the Squad - An experienced player preferably with leadership skills
