albal1979 (U8887940) posted Jul 2, 2007 Nugent has made it clear that he wants to go, and Everton is the only club he is seemingly willing to go to. However PNE need to now do the same as they did with Nash, sell him or bench him. Nuge is undoubtly talented, but he is now in danger of thinking he is bigger than the club and not caring about playing for the shirt and playing for a "Toffee" move, even though there is no indication Moyes' even wants him! PNE must sell Nugent now or his value will drop in January (esp with 20% going to Bury sell on fee) and we cannot let a promising season get bogged down with negativity

Spurs_Man82 (U7316318) posted Jul 2, 2007 Nugent seems to be milking this speculation for all it's worth don't you think. He's not worth 7million anyway plus he's a goal snatcher. Remember Defoe's goal but he stole it.

paddymickey (U8745256) posted Jul 2, 2007 Well one thing is for sure - he won't be going to Sunderland. Looks like they have had enough of his dillydallying around. Keane has done the right thing in my opinion. He wants another striker and waiting a month for person to make a decision is enough when there are other options to persue...

curtismfc (U8612223) posted Jul 2, 2007 Compared to some players such as Darren Bent for £17m to Spurs who could turn out to be a waste of money I think £7m is very good value for money in todays market for a player who has scored some terrific goals against leeds in the play offs at Elland Road & Crystal Palace. He is not just a goal poacher

essexnorthender (U8889569) posted Jul 2, 2007 Nuge isn't messing anyone around - maybe the deals on the table just aren't as great as the newspaper headlines suggest. Just cos an offer is made it doesn't mean he has to accept it. It's refreshing to see a player that actually DOES give a damn about the shirt he wears rather than simply the £. Nuge knows he can make a few quid in his career, so why rush?

ArmchairPro (U1794726) posted Jul 4, 2007 I can understand PNE putting a high value on him and as a player he might well be worth it in the long run. Having said that there's no way it's worth risking £7m, on an unproven player in the top flight, with his contract ending so soon. Comment on this article |
