Surely Henman must start the match as favourite!

Moyà, not Moya (he is from Mallorca and therefore has an accent on his name- the other way round- (and is pronounced moyá, the Catalan way, although what they speak is not Catalan, but rather Mallorquín)(incidentally, Rafael Nadal is from the same place and his uncle played footy for Barça but he supports Real Madrid) might not have done much recently, but as the way things stand, I still feel he is more than a match for Tim. Are we all learning the words to the the Ecuadorian national anthem. Come on Lapentti!

Nalbandian is a top player but he is just not as fit as he should be. Can't see him making the quarters. If he was fitter he could have been a threat but unfortunatly he seems to like his food and drink a bit too much to fullfill his potential as a tennis player.

ok this is what I think will happen to the brits in the mens singles draw:

Lee Childs v Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (Pak) - I dont know alot about the pakistani but I know enough to think that it may be a struggle but he will pull through and go on to lose to marat safin obviously.
Jamie Baker v Edouard Roger-Vasselin (Fra) - I dont know alot about this frenchman but if jamie can beat Alexander Peya he can beat this guy even if it is best of 5 sets. He will then lose to chela quite easily.
Tim Henman v Carlos Moya (Spa) - A tim henman win but I fear it will be a struggle and it will go to at least 4 sets but knowing moya's record at wimbledon and tims record, tim will be the favourite even though moya is a seed. I feel tim has a gd chance of reaching the semi's beating andy murray along the way (due to the fact we dont know how fit he is) and meeting roddick in the quarter final where I feel tim will lose but he has a gd record against roddick and is one of the returners in the game so I feel quarter-finals to semi-finals max for henman unless federer loses along the way.
Joshua Goodall v Feliciano Lopez (Spa) - this could be a close one but Lopez has reached the second week of wimbledon I believe so I would say Lopez.
Andy Murray v Nicolas Lapentti (Ecu) - I really dont know about murray at the moment but surely he should beat this guy and then in the third round tim henman which will be tricky so I dont know to be honest but if they do meet I will definately cheer for henman cos he deserves it.
Alex Bogdanovic v Chris Guccione (Aus) - Alex will win but it will be closely fought and one thing I know about the Austrian is he has a powerful serve but if boggo can utilise his groundstrokes like he did against roddick at queens he will probably win. He will then lose to davydenko but dont discount an upset.
Richard Bloomfield v Lleyton Hewitt (Aus) - One of the weaker brits. Knowing how badly he lost to Bjorkman the other day and how gd hewitt is on grass I believe it may be a thrashing.
Jonathan Marray v Sebastien Grosjean (Fra) - The weakiest brit I think and against Grosjean so I'm very much sure of a Grosjean win and in straight sets.

Elfenomeno9, U R correct about Andy's accomplishments at whatever age. I had a discussion about how I felt Andy Roddick's game is in decline. I wrote that I believe Rafael Nadal is a better player no matter the surface. That Roddick's serve is the only weapon better than Nadal. How I felt he is not a major force in men's tennis anymore & a BBC member challenged me to show evidence. I shouldn't have said anything because U R right, it makes no sense comparing the 2 & their careers.

secretstevie, having had another look at the men's draw, here are my predictions for the quarter-finals:

Top half:

Federer v Gonzalez or someone having a good run recently (e.g. Kohlschreiber)

Roddick v A. Murray or Gasquet

Bottom half:

Djokovic v Baghdatis or Nalbandian

Nadal (!) or Youzhny v Berdych

Newmark & Randall six, I like both of your predictions except maybe Randall's Monfils pick. Monfil's, unfortunately, hasn't been playing well lately & it'll probably continue thru this fortnight. Hewitt is a good, solid pick to go to the finals. If I had a 2nd pick for someone on the bottom half to get to the finals after my 1st pick of Nadal, I would pick Hewitt & my 3rd pick would be Berdych. So, basically we all need to forget about the top half of the men's draw cause it's popular consensus that everyone believes Federer is in the finals. And I am one of those people. He may not get there in str8 sets, Roddick &/or Gonzalez may give him a hard time, but basically Federer's in the finals.

Monfils into 3rd round clash with Davydenko. Not dropped a set so far.
I stand by my QF prediction smiley
