Thaksin in talks with Sven

Premiership Manchester City
comment on the article

Prospective Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra has confirmed that he has held talks with Sven-Goran Eriksson with a view to making him manager if he successfully completes his takeover.

The Thai prime minister, who lodged a formal offer of £81.6m for City on Thursday, has to pass the Premier League's "fit and proper person" test before being able to complete the takeover.

Eriksson, 59, has been out of work since stepping down from the England job after the 2006 World Cup.

Would you be happy with Sven in the hotseat?

Thaksin's attempts to keep the spot light on himself whilst in exile, will surely mean rocky roads for man city fans.

Taksin's assets were ill-gotten, reaped from the exploitation of power for profit during his rule, and his rule was abusive and monopolistic. I am flabbergasted that whilst the charges of corruption are piling up against him, he is actually allowed to even enter a bid to buy the club.

Make no mistake. Thaksin's moves are political, and are designed to take the focus away from his wrong doings, whilst still keeping himself in the spotlight while he cries "poor old me. I am being picked on".

His actions whilst in office were extremely eratic, and one can only imagine the hairbrain schemes he will bring to man city.

Get ready for alot of head scratching man city fans..

"I think Man City fans will have to get used to reaching the quarter finals, maybe semi if you are lucky, and Sven being extremely content with that being a successful season."

Does that mean City will be finishing in the top two of the Premiership then as his qualifaction record would suggest? winkeye

SGE has taken the easy option, not surprising as he didnt want to work while the england cash was still coming in.
He knows City are not expected to win anything. End of first season SGE will say the new players need time to settle in. End of season two he will say - thanks for the cash suckers and leave. City will be no further forward and millions worse off because of poor signings.

The top 2 of the bottom six maybe.

You can have your own section of the Premier League. It shall be known as the "Eastlands Bottom Six Challenge". It’s got a nice ring to it, it may have to change next season though.

The "Eastlands Mid Table Championship" is the next step. Featuring Wolves, WBA, Norwich, Leicester City and Cardiff.

Sounds nice doesn't it?

Enjoy.

P.s. Please spell Qualification correctly it is frightfully annoying.

Just to think When Mr Shinawatra does take over our club will no longer in debt whilst across the CITY at Old Trafford United are around £600M and still signing players SAF thinks will give him a second Champions league trophy. Whats happened to all the cries of Chelsea trying to buy success from MUFC and their fans? it may not work for Ferguson this time and when you consider the debt they'll be in deep trouble unlike MCFC who shortly will have a massive equity, its a funny old game aint it? providing tings go to plan at te COMS within three years MCFC WILL be a top four club make no mistake about that! Its funny really not long ago the Man United fans were ridiculing the City fans about their council house he he he he he who knows they might have their own in a few years time when Mr Glacer sells their 'PIT' to recoup his money. As Bob Dylan once sang ' THE TIMES - THEY ARE A CHANGIN''''''' Thaksin? you might just be a GOD SEND like Joe Mercer was back in the wonderful sixties!!!!!!

The question is now the reliability of funds. It does make you wonder where this cash came from. It being illegal for certain people of power in Thailand, such as Thaksin, to hold undeclared stock etc.

So stability could be an issue.

As for your debt argument. No man will constantly put millions into a team to watch it fail. I believe he will be shrewd, unlike Roman and co.

" It does make you wonder where this cash came from"

That's a no-brainer! :D

Thaksins wealth quadrupled during his 6 years in power.

The cash came from the pockets of the people of Thailand.

Be careful with Thaksin. He always destroys the organizations he sets up or joins. He started his political job by joining Palang Dham party. Then he collapsed it before setting up his own party, Thai Rak Thai. Then he did everything--corruptions--for his own profits because he thought no one would caught him. This caused his party to face dissolution.
