Just in case any fellow fans haven't read this yet, the article published on sky sports has all but stated that Daniel Williams will buy Blackburn Rovers for ~£50 million. The article is below:

From: home.skysports.com/list.aspx...

American-based businessman Daniel Williams is looking to seal a deal for Blackburn Rovers.

The Premier League club have already confirmed that they have held talks with potential new investors and Williams now appears to be in pole position to take charge at Ewood Park.

Although based across the Atlantic, Williams hails from Lancashire and is keen to land Rovers in a £50million deal.

Williams's company DJW Ventures have confirmed they hope to seal a deal for the Premier League club.

"The spring 2007 acquisition of Blackburn Rovers for £50million marks both DJW's highest profile and most significant investment," said a statement issued on their website.

It is not yet known whether current chairman John Williams will be kept on as part of the deal.

Now we all know there isn't going to be an Abramovich style takeover, however the extra injection of cash may allow us to compete for top players with the top clubs better, and also our rivals for places like Tottenham etc. I actually hope they keep John Williams in some role at the club because I feel he has done a good job at keeping rovers out of the headlines, and pulled an absolute master stroke in bringing in Hughes which has enabled us to progress not only as a team, but also as a club in the buisness sense, Thanks John!!

I just think it is what is needed if we are to still compete at the top of the table in 3-4 years time considering the other clubs that have been taken over. If we can bring in a couple of players e.g. Bellamy and one more striker then I can see a bright future for us.

Any other thoughts??

Hopefully Mark hughes does get a bit of money. He can spend that wisely and improve his squad.

blackburn are going in the right direction, being an everton fan i know how it is not getting money spending money on players. The problem with blackburn is their fanbase is not great, everton for example have a great fanbase as do newcastle. There are loadsa empty seats at blackburn all the time , same at the riverside which is dissapointing to see.

No offence guys but i thought the 50Million he mentioned was the transfer kitty money LOL sorry never mind that anyway it dosent matter if he's taking you over for 50Million or 100Million , the way things are going the Blackburn takeover will be finished before the ManCity one!

Good luck for the future , cya!!!

I'm a Man united fan and Blackburn are probably my second team (if i had to choose one) hopefully you get a decent level of investment, you guys deserve it, I thnk of all the teams below the top 4 you guys have cosistently been the best team to watch, from next season onward its time to hammer it home on the lesser team and start winning the banker games, I think european football will be regular over the next few years at Ewood....

If I were a Blackburn fan, quite frankly, I'd be insulted at a valuation of ~£50million. A good quality UEFA Cup team, with the basis there, with a bit of investment, to challenege for 5th spot definately in the Premiership, if not 4th.

The only way for Blackburn is up. Whoever buys them for ~£50m is definately getting them on the cheap.

I hear the guy originates from Lytham St Annes. That makes him quality in my book - and I'm a ManU supporter.

I've seen him play for Sampdoria and Italy before and I think he would be a good addition to the squad. He's quick, intelligent with the ball and is good with both feet so he would be ideal as the money Atletico are asking for F.Torres and the silly mones Berbatov's worth, Quagiarella would be good for us.

As for the name on the shirt...maybe Quaggy would fit...
