For buying Barton. Why does Allardyce and football in general want to keep thugs like this in the game?

scvaughan - Liverpool fans, as a whole, are widely regarded as the best in the world. I dont think Joey's up to that job.

I have a lot of respect for Sam Allardyce but I believe the signing of Joey Barton will be his biggest regret of his Newcastle career.

I hope I'm wrong for both concerned, but I am sure that one day Joey Barton will finally look back on his career and wonder just how far he would have scaled the heights if only he had learned to behave himself!

joneser are you joking the only fans who think liverpool fans are the best are them. All other fans regard them as scum most overated fans ever and most of the time very quiet

although people say he is a thug(which i am not sayin he isn't)i think as a footballer he is very talented. he wouldnt be playin in the premiership otherwise would he and i personaly wish joey the best of look to him as a player at newcastle united and i also think that Sam Allerdyce is the man who can put joey in his place and get the very best out of him

Joey Barton is another Lee Bowyer; an aggressive, energetic box-to-box central midfielder; a reflection of what he is also off the pitch; a frustrated, violent young man.

I guess violence runs in the family, his bloody half-brother was an axe-murderer for christ sake. If it wasn´t for football he would be just the same. I hope somebody with a bit of that 'Roy Keane character' shows up and dishes out the justice he deserves

Whoah that comment was a bit harsh. Comparing a player who beat up a team-mate over circumstances unknown, to a murdering brother. I just hope he proves everyone wrong. He respects the manager and respects the fans, 2 things city couldn't provide =).

Of course Best was not Fergies problem before anybody notices the deliberate mistake.
