Championship fixtures released

Championship Fixtures
comment on the article

Newly-promoted Scunthorpe kick off their Coca Cola Championship campaign with a tricky visit to recently relegated Charlton.

Blackpool, who return to the second tier after a 29-year absence, also have their work cut out after being handed a difficult opener away to Leicester.

Newly promoted Bristol City will face QPR at Ashton Gate.

Southampton's home clash with Crystal Palace is arguably the most attractive fixture of the first weekend.

Wolves and Watford will meet at Molineux in another eye-catching clash.

Championship fixtures

Sheffield United, who were controversially relegated last season - pending the result of their ongoing attempts to be reinstated to the Premiership, host Colchester at Bramall Lane, while West Brom travel to Burnley aiming to bounce back from their play-off final defeat to Derby.

Preston host Norwich at Deepdale and Sheffield Wednesday make the long trek to Ipswich.

Elsewhere, Barnsley host Coventry, Stoke travel to Cardiff and Hull face Plymouth at the KC Stadium.

Give your thoughts on these fixtures.

Charlton v Scunthorp:

This should be a very entertaining game, as both teams (relegated and promoted) will want to prove their seriousness in the Cocoa Cola Championship.

Charlton, on paper, are favourites to take all three points, as they bid to go straight back into the Premiership -not a task to be taken on lightly, and I think they'll be thereabouts, (playoffs if not automatic promotion) by seasons end. It is a long season, and those Seventeen Thousand Charlton season ticket holders have a big part to play.

Scunthorp, aren't there just to make up the numbers and will be very keen to give a good impression to everyone watching the game.

Prediction: 3-1 to The Addickssmiley

This Game may depend on the summers transfer market. If Scunthorpe can hang on to Billy Sharpe and if Charlton can't keep their star players then it could be a close call.

A tough start (Wolves and Leciester away plus Sheff U at home) but we need to gain points from such such games if we want to be fighting for promotion.

QPR should find their first two fixtures rather easy... Bristol City will be a walk in the park for Rangers while Cardiff won't put up much of a fight...

"Preston 0 - 0 Norwich"

An away draw on the opening day vs Preston would be awesome! :D

cardiff will KILL qpr

you won both games last season, with luck on qpr's side, cardiff dominated both matches and deserved 6 points

qpr's luck has run out
