Just read about castillo rubishing hattons unbeaten record. I love hatton but will av to agree with him here. at the moment ricky has fought dangerous fighters but not well known. I think being unbeaten nowadays jus doesnt compare to the days when the likes of Rocky Marciano were about. an how about calzaghe being on par with hopkins, holmes and could take over Joe Louis for title defences? i jus think frank wants to make a bit of history, an can see im puttin joe in wid a load of cannon fodder. i like an respect joe alot but this is not the way to go down in history. wat are people opinions on some british fighters unbeaten record an calzaghes title defences?

I was looking forward to seeing peoples comments about Ricky Hatton fight last Saturday, not all this UFC rubbish, I thought that Ricky was magnificent against castillo, the best he has been for a long time, well done Ricky and I look forward to your next bout.

Nope. Did Karate for a few years though. Makes boxing seem like a tarts sport. And yes, I did fight competitively.

Appy ammer.Ah yes one punch and then you bow to your opponent ,Get a life,so you support ricky you admit that? But you say boxing is a tarts sport, You sure are mixed up??????Anyway this will be my last message to you as boxing intrests me not you.I think ricky should box the young lad P N first then take on Del a hoya and then mayweather because they are very similar and i think with Hatton,s style he would walk through the young lad even if he is world champion.then take on Del a hoya and finish his career with mayweather.

Appy Ammer - "Makes bowing seem like a tarts sport" I reckon Castillo will disagree after that sickening blow on Saturday .....WHAM!

I think appy ammer is doing some fishing and is having success with a few bites. Nobody, yet nobody, who has been involved in any competitive sport would think boxing is a tarts sport. What do you say to that appy ammer!

oooh i have to join in on this one! It's too tempting not to!

UFC?! Crap. I've boxed at numerous amatuer level dinner shows, and any decent amatuer would clean up in UFC. Also, any decent National level Karate (Ishin Ryu or similar )fella would do just as well if not better in that fony 'WWF' like competition.

Boxing... Hatton was superb against Castillo. Excellent to see a body shot doing damage like that, reminds me of McGuigan. I cannot wait for him to mug off Mayweather!

It may be true, unbeaten records dont mean much for British boxers anymore, but I wouldnt tare everyone with the same brush as to hold it against them. Some of them admitadley take the easy option, but some of them (Like Calzage and Hatton) have NEVER shyed away from the Yanks or Mexicans but they just dont get the opportunities, thats not their fault - Its all about pay days and possibly even they might see the likes of Hatton and Calzage as an upset, too risky to lose to. Probably more the case actually.... Yanks are scared of us haha! smiley

laugh There was a amateur boxer in UFC 1, he had the golden gloves the whole bit. He lasted under a minute against a 'fony karate guy', and that was WAY back. Please don't comment on things you obviously know nothing about. As for Castillio, he looked over the hill and disinterested. Until (if) Hatton beats the likes of Mayweather, he won't be regarded as a great.

Appy Ammer, you just confirmed im right then. Thanks.

I said an Amatuer boxer could clean up in that comp, but would even say a decent enough National Karate guy would do even better - So you just told us a fony karate guy beat the boxer? Thats what i said, no?
Whilst we're on the point, you dont know where or how Ive got my knowledge and opinions and I dont know you, so dont tell me not to comment please, its embarressing. In fact my experience is heavily in English National Karate but im just more a Boxing fan myself. And seeing that rubbish cage fighting with 'male friendly' hugging and submission holds is very boring. In my opinion its not even fighting.

The only reason Castillo looked past it is because Hatton made him look that way. Castillo is no mug, and Hatton completely out boxed him before dropping him (Castillo has never touched the canvas in his career by the way - until the Hatton Fight).

Why dont you pop back here after Hatton vs Mayweather and we'll discuss that too.
