But of course, you're New Liverpool FC now aren't you? Owned by foreigners, managed by foreigners, played by foreigners, watched by foreigners. And that's one of the reasons I want us to stay in the city, because we are the remaining true representatives of the Scouse Footballing Tradition

Oh dear, not this mush again !

From Billy Liddell onwards there was always a Scots tradition at the club (as with youz with Alex young ?), so we've always had a combination of Scousers and "foreigners". As for being owned by foreigners - you wish it could happen to you !

If those Arabs we jilted at the altar (we may still live to regret that, but never mind) came to Goodison are you seriously saying you'd tell them "No thanks, we'll stay with uncle Bill".

Went to my senior school, Kenwright, by the way (20 years before me, I hasten to add !). Some of the teachers even then still remembered him as a bright and talented lad. They also remebered McCartney as being the same (and a blue, too). but by time Heather's finished with him I think Newcastle will have more chance of a wealthy benefactor than Everton.

No, Macca was never into football. He always sits on the fence when he's asked who he supports. We've more chance of Heather Mills playing for us than him buying us.

Actually, there's a thought. Heather Mills can't be any less mobile that Beattie, we could stick her up front with AJ.

Meat Balls.

He's a blue, believe me. Just not a bitter blue.

(Namedropping bit) Me and a couple of mates met him outside school, two days after the '78 EC final, in Mount St. He was in a Range Rover with Linda (and 4 dalmations) taking photos of his old school.

We'd just been thrown out of history and suspended by our bluenose housemaster for missing school for 2 days to go to the final. we were telling Paul this and he laughed and said that even though he was a toffee (his words) he'd cheered Liverpool on.

But then again, I suppose an Evertonian who'd cheer Liverpool on is not true blue by your standards. Unless he's got the odd £200m to spare ? winkeye

Loving, tender spoons (I'm losing the hang of this, aren't I ?)

Well, if that's true - and you seem reasonably honest for a Kopite Drongo - then it puts to bed those tired old arguments about which way the Beatles swung when it came to footie. Macca has always claimed neutrality, which of course is a nonsense except among lying, populist politicians, so there you go.

Hairy Pussies

George also went to our school, and rumour had it he was as thick as two short planks and had no interest at all in football (though neither did a third of all the people I worked with in the eighties until Everton won the league in '85, natch).

The local pub at the time (The Vines) reckoned John was a red, but I can't see Yoko ever freeing up his cash for us.

oops, got one removed there.

Anyway, the Fab Four were never really footie types, were they? Apart from Ringo - he was dumb enough to be a goalie. Drummers and goalies, very similar characters I always think.

I always picture Lennon as a RS for some reason. Maybe your new Sports Arena could be called The Strawberry Fields Sponsored By Yoko In Loving Memory of John Lennon By Arrangement With Pizza Hut And Dunkin Donuts Stadium?

If Macca digs deep, ours could be The Yesterday All Our Troubles Seemed So Far Away Tesco Metro Dome

'Above us only sky', my God that's a g@y thing to put on an airport.

As far a being sponsored, we're not too proud ! And if you got Macca's dosh, 'Baby you're a rich man too'

Ye Crack? That was only Lennon's local when he was at Art College though, and you ain't that old. Unless you are in fact Cilla Black. Or Ken Dodd? Oh, no you can't be Ken Dodd, because I am.

Just popping off the Jam Buttie Mines.

Sticky Buttie-ocks.
