I still wouldn't rule out a move for Michael Owen. Allardyce has pretty much admitted he hasn't got much chance of keeping him if a big club comes in.

If Owen could steer clear of injury then hes got frightening goal scoring potential with Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Scholes, Nani, Anderson etc creating the chances. He's still a deadly finisher imo and available at £9 million.

i definately think man utd are 2 players off being an unstoppable squad, that is a right back replacement for neville and another striker. it looks as if saha leaving is a definate and with ole getting on a bit it is essential i feel we get a youngish player to partner rooney. man utd have said ther are not interested in anelka (glad 2 here) and athletico madrid have said this week that torres can leave if he wants. villa and eto'o great players but i cant c them leavin valencia and barca respectively. berbatov would be brilliant but not sure if that will happen either, and with over 40 mill being spent already maybe owen mite be the target at 9 mill. i cant say i wud be dissapointed with owen, a proven goalscorere and his game i feel (ie poachin and positioning) will suite rooneys (ie droppin off nd linking) and will do wonders for the national side aswell. i wudnt worry about owens "unjury proneness" woodgate was supose to b prone but he has had a whole season fit with the boro so i wudnt worry about that. any of the above forwards id love at united but it seems its gonna b owen or torres at this point.

a quick word on a replacement on nevile, it seems to me a lack of quolity full backs who are available, so either we wait we get a youngster or we spend big on a full back, the best in the world just now wud be lahm zambrotta cicinho sergio ramos probibly not in that order, but tricky to sign, mayb SAF will give nevile one mor season before replaceing him

When do Fabio and Rafael, the teenage brazilian full backs arrive? One of them could replace Neville if Fergie has seen something in them. I hope that we sign another striker as we dont have a lot of options up front. It seems as though the club doesnt think Rossi is ready yet and Solskjaer is getting old, Saha gets injured all the time, Dong is untested and Smith just isnt that good.

As for the right-back position, It could be filled by Rafinha or Eduardo Ratinho who've both had storming seasons at Schalke and Corinthians respectively, other than that, and Micah Richards, I can't see that any other YOUNG RB's would be good enough for UTD.

And in the way of strikers, unless we can get a deal on Torres E.g. swap for Smith/Saha/Maybe Rossi I can't see that we're gonna get him when his price tag is near £35m. Villa or Eto'o would be a dream signing, but I don't think it would ever happen. Owen or Anelka would be a big mistake IMO, they both lack World-Class status and add nothing except selfishness and goals. Wasn't that the reason Ruud left, If we wanted that sort of player we should've kept him!! We were ripped off at £11m for a player in their prime.
