So you agree that our crisis was not the original exclusion of Beckham but moreso that by bring him back, McClaren has proved himself too weak for the England post?

I agree that England are in crisis. I like Becks mate and before you start I know you don't so let's not go down that road shall we. I think that the Lamps-Gerrard problem is more of an issue. So's the strikers on offer and goalie a bit too.

Main thing I agree with is that McClaren is a joke!

Thanks for that mate, if you don't like it, get off a Beckham post and start you love Joe Cole post somewhere else. Furthermore, it's not about having a life, it's about talking to people who know football instead of working in my office

Beckham is light years ahead of Lennon, SWP and Bentley right now.

just cause that will change in the next 3 years it does not mean he should not be playing this season.

International football is about picking the best players of the moment - no need to "devolp" players like Lennon or Bentley - that is for their clubs to do.

So what do we do if Beckham can't play? Throw Bentley in at the deep end against Russia or Croatia.. or perhaps it would have been better to get a look in against lowly Estonia, and don't tell me that we would not have won if it was not for Beckham

Aaron Lennon needs to improve, but he is the obvisous replacement for Becks when fit, but that's when Beckham is not good enough anymore. I would like to think we'd beat Estonia comfortably without Becks, but we've been s poor as of late it's hard to be confident when I think it, let alone say it!

you can look at players in friendlys.

Bentley is way down the pecking order anyways.

Seems Lennon and Dyer are ahead of him in Mac's mind.

Like i said, competative fixtures - no matter who they are against - should be for the best players.

Maybe we would have drawn against Croatia or beaten Mecidonani if Beckham was playing.

I believe David Beckham has proved his worth in the 2 games since his recall. I challenge those who believe those who think England are better off without him as he is now. I am concerned how he will continue this form needing to travel to and from USA. But for now he is worth every penny.

How many games will it take for the media and public to get on his back again? They will blame his travelling as a reason if we don't qualify. I think we will qualify, and I think Beckham will be the motivating factor for the whole team. Gerrard raises his game when Beckham plays, which can only be good for England. If Becks was dropped from the SQUAD (not just the team) for poor performance, then Lampard needs to axed from the squad also. Now. Carrick should have his chance instead, and Hargreaves when he is fully fit and ready.
