Spurs deal was big mistake - Mido

Mido found it hard to get into the first team
Striker Mido believes he should not have joined Spurs on a permanent deal.
The 24-year-old had spent 18 months on loan from Roma before opting to commit to Tottenham a year ago.

The Egypt international made only seven league starts this season, with injury and competition from other strikers hampering his first-team chances.

"I am not happy at Spurs. I made a big mistake when I signed permanently. I know this could result in problems," he told Egyptian television.

Mido had been linked with a move to Celta Vigo last season and was close to signing for Manchester City last January.

But he opted to stay with the north London club and re-assess his future in the summer

oh oh..big trouble...not.

If Mido is to make it as a footballer he needs to understand that effort and application are required all season and not just when he fancies it.

Its no good jogging across the pitch like a fat boy in the warm ups. We made the mistake in signing him not him in choosing us. It would be no different anywhere as it has been no different elsewhere.

Mido - time to wake up and smell the coffee old son before its too late!

It was indeed a mistake of... Spurs themselves to sign this guy. Mido has been a nuisance at Ajax (where he was said to throw with scissors at teammates) and at the Egypt national team. Be glad this guy has gone.

I'm surprised Mido hasn't featured more for Spurs, I saw him quite frequently at Ajax and he looked a class act.

Mido worked hard for Spurs when he was looking for a contract. Once he was signed, he pretty much gave up. There is no way Jol could have played him more. He did nothing to earn a place in the side. I am sure Spurs agree with him that it was a mistake. Time to call it a day Mido and find a regular game in the Championship.

I think it WAS a big mistake that he came back to spurs. Think about it, they dont really need him with Berbatov, Defoe and robbie keane and Barnard coming through the ranks. How is he supposed to get played? doh

Hope he goes, he can take his mate Ghaly with him too. I have never seen such a lazy target man as Mido, he was fine upto the point he got his perminant deal and then he just gave up and could not be bothered.

Last season Mido was about as much use as a chocolate teapot. As others here have commented, as soon as he got his permanent contract he got lazy.
Cant wait to see Berbatov back in action tho!
