Mizzposhcow (U8421701) posted May 21, 2007 we had 4 tickets at £60 and were seated second to last row on the top tier, it near killed my mother-in-law. the stadium looks very nice inside and out but as for the atmosphere it was dreadful. we got in early enough to join in with the presentations and prince william and the singing etc. but we could bearly see anything at all and to top that there didn't appear to be a sound system for the top tier so there was no sound either. couldn't hear lesley garrett, russell watson, prince william, the red arrows. very very disappointing indeed for such an expensive stadium - we would have been better off trying to get £35 seats and feeling a part of the day. dont care if i ever go again after that - what a waste of money - unless you are a corporate guest of course!!! sod that fact that it is us who pay for our season tickets - every away match ticket inckuding all cup games - european away tickets etc. etc. and that is how we are rewarded. well thanks a lot.!!

Cinqchamp (U8421742) posted May 21, 2007 I was at Wembley on Sunday for the conference play off final 40,000+ there so not quite half full but still the sound was amazing. The new underground station is a massive improvement. getting was pretty straigh forward, though there is zero security. once inside its easy to navigate to your seat. They have clearly though about accoustics the staduim echoed to the sound of the fans even at half capacity. I was suprised that there are no TVs on the concourse as this is now standard even in the cahampionship. Seating is great I am tall and there was pletnty of room. The view is one of the best I have had at a footie ground anywhere even in the top teirs you have the feeling of being close to the pitch. From the outside though it lacks something, the arch is great but when you compare it the Giuseppe Meazza (san Ciro) or the Milenium stadium it dosent quite have the presence. But lets face it footie isnt about asthetics its about noise colour and passion and I think the new Wembly captures these elements extremly well. (shame city lost)Overall its a great national stadium all we need now is some national success to match

Howard N - BBC Sport (U6218796) posted May 21, 2007 I agree with you Mizzposhcow that the stadium is so vast that the PA system has a bit of an echo problem. There's a slight lack of clarity and it wasn't that easy to hear what Sir Bob Geldof and Sir Henry Cooper were saying when they chatting to Des Lynam.

coverackchelsea (U4500513) posted May 21, 2007 I thought the Stadium was amazing and I felt a real sense of occasion being there. I was there for the last cup final and the stadium has improved beyond belief. More dryers in the toilets would be good, but the ones there did work fantastically well. In conclusion best stadium I've been to and that includes the Millenium.

BlueLSP (U8423663) posted May 21, 2007 The article is spot on, it was easy getting there, easy getting around the ground, the seating was excellent, my son could see it all and excellent leg room. The food was expensive but ranks the best i have had a football ground (not hard admittedly) The game wasnt the best but tense and that gave it an edge. I have been to well over 50 league grounds in England and a few European, inlcuding San Siro and Nou Camp, and for me the new Wembley ranks well above all those.

doranasdoranasdoran (U8403805) posted May 21, 2007 I think the new wembley is ok but for the amount of money spent on it and the time it took to build it should have a higher capcity. nou camp is about 98,000 the bernabau is about 90,000 and south africa are building a 95,000 for the world cup in 2012. Its good but not the best and thats what it should be.

NealR2000 (U2412056) posted May 21, 2007 Yes, it could be bigger capacity, and for certain events, you could probably get 100 to 150 paying spectators. The problem is one of safety and crowd logistics. Safely dispursing enormous amounts of people, often at night, creates all kinds of dangers, as well as a massive problem for the police.
