Twenty four hours at Wembley

Non League
comment on the article

Just a day after the prima donnas sent the world to sleep in the showpiece final, I have just returned from the conference play off final. Ok, a few hangers on to boost the attendance (myself included), but an interesting and sometimes exciting afternoon, full of passion.

With the league play offs suggesting similar excitement, I reckon England's national team and the fat cats in the premiership shouls all be sent to Cardiff to play, as at least then the games at Wembley will be played by players thrilled to be there and awful spectacles like yesterday's non-event will be consigned to the backwaters of Wales

As well as todays game, the FA Trophy final last week, made the FA cup final look like it was, utter rubbish played by overpaid idiots

It was a fantastic game with passion, soms nice football at times and many chances.
It could have easily ended up in 5-2 or 4-1 or whatever.
Although Morecambe deserved to win I feel down: I know Exeter beat us Oxford in the play-offs, but a good friend of mine supports them and I'd like to see some former League teams get back in there.

But as a true Oxford supporter and a real football fan, I say 'well done Morecambe and the best of luck in League Two'.

Its what we Conference supporters have been saying all along. The Premier and Championship tend to look down their noses at the lower leagues, but in the Conference we are always ready to have a go, be it league, cup or play-offs. Moral - come and give the Conference a look. Its a lot cheaper, and you won't be disappointed.

OVER RATED AND OVERPAID !!! That is my description of all premiership players. The FA cup was DIABOLICAL,BORING.The FA should be ashamed. If you want to watch proper football come down to the lower leagues. Todays play off Conference final was a million times better than the farce yesterday.Well done Morecambe and Sammy McIlroy looking forward to our meting next season Rochdale supporter

Well Done Morecambe!!! Great achievement and it gives me, (a Barrow exile), much pleasure to see that our neighbours from t'other side of t'Bay in the League at last!
What a great improvement on the previous day's play when we had to suffer the boredom of Man U v Chelski - we saw 100pct honest endeavour instead of overpaid, overrated prima donnas!!

Good Luck to all at Christie Park!

what we saw on sunday was real football. the two teams were made of football players, not footballers. the 40000+ fans made gave us more of an atmosphere than the near 90000 made on saturday, perhaps due to the lack of corporate interest in, what i believe, to be the biggest match in football today. you can forget your champions league finals, fa cup finals and play-off finals, the conference play-off final can change the lives of all involved, for the better, and, for the loser, worse. it changes the town from which the winning team hails.

league football is by far the biggest prize.

promotion to the premiership, quite simply, earns a few people more money. promotion to the league earns many people and their town and club, a place on the footballing map of the world.

What a great stadium and a day later than many expected a great game. We went,as many did,to see wembley but the game was the real star in front of 40000 fans that provided a wonderful atmosphere.
Sammy McIlroys smile and blatant dive were a joy!!!

Although we are PNE fans,we will be at Christie Park sometime next season.
Look further than the premier league, this week there have been great games in leagues 1 & 2.

Good luck to Yeovil & WBA this weekend.

British players playing a British style game. If that sounds racist so be it, It's the truth.

I am fed up with the likes of Didier the diver. tDid anyone tell Manure and ££££ski that they are in the entertainment industry.
