Well Done Morecombe, but also unlucky Exeter!

I was hoping that Exeter would go up because I'm from the SW!

Congratulations to Morecambe, where I grew up, and actually worked at Christie Park as a schoolboy in the early seventies, 100% record at Wembley, BRILLIANT, I was there for the first but unfortunately couldn't make yesterday - did manage to watch the match though and some great football was played by both sides - Danny Carlton's winning goal (along with both other goals, incidentally) would have graced the poor excuse for a football match that took place there on Saturday. Just one final point - will people PLEASE not that it is spellt MORECAMBE - there is only one O !

well done Morecambe, I used to play in their under 19 team from 2000-2002 and was actually in the same team as Danny Carlton. I don't support Morecambe but having been there I still keep an eye out on their results. On the game itself it was excellent has has all the play off games I have watched, the standard of football as well as the passion and determination really shows up the so-called best league in the world.

Morecambe were the better side. I was there and it was obvious that Morcambe were better drilled, had more composure on the ball and were more dangerous in attack. Well done - and your fans were good craic in the pub before the game too.

One point about the support. Exeter's outnumbered Morecambe by 3 to 1 but Morecambe sang longer and louder. I was really disappointed by the Grecians fans when they kept quiet after they conceded. The singing was sporadic and few joined in. It was more like a family day out and many might as well have been watching tv. Where I was sat, there were a load of foreigners who just wanted to take in a game at the new Wembley than support a team. It was like a library up in the rafters.

Still, no complaints. A really depressing result for my hometown club but we would have been lucky to win. Good team and good support. Well done Morecambe.
