Your FA Cup final

FA Cup
comment on the article

Chelsea have won the FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United - Didier Drogba's goal landing Jose Mourinho's side the first Cup win at the new Wembley.

I've been on this thread since Friday, and we've discussed what was going to happen, what tactics the managers would use, how much the burgers were at Wembley, and what you thought of the match.

Now I'd like to know what you're saying about the final. Did Chelsea deserve their win? And how do you think Wembley looked on its big day?

Chelsea did not deserve that win the game was heading to penalty shoot out because the ref refused to give Giggs that goal and MAN U could have carried the day.

Giggs fouled Cech. Without Giggs push, Cech would never have the ball inside the goal. Clear and simple.
But no arguments for Chelsea's goal: what a beauty.

The facts are a. the ball crossed the line, b. the ref didn't blow for a foul, therefore it's a goal. Giggs kicked only the ball, didn't foul Cech. United played all the football, and proved they were the better team, but you don't always get what you deserve in football. Rubbish final though, but of course it was, Chelsea were playing, when did they last play a game that everyone could agree was a great game? Pre-Mourinho probably.

So using your argument: -

Fact is that neither ref nor assistant gave the goal, therefore it wasn't one.

No, the ref didn't blow for a foul because there was no foul, whereas the ball did cross the line.

this is just silly

it's not a goal

cech saved it in front of the line, Giggs forced him over the line. Intentional or not, you can't do that and it's a foul.

what the ref did or didn't do at the time is irrelevant, he wasn't going to give it and shouldn't have
