Amazing that in the space of two hours the sky high over hyped reputations of so called wonder horse can disappear over the horizon with their a***s on fire!! Finsceal Beo appeared to have the run of the race in Paris,no trouble in running, she was ideally placed with 2 to run but was just beaten by a better filly on the day.I cant wait for the excuses.
Macarthur was desperate,he did have the run of the race up front but when push come to shove he found zero,he has no change of pace, wont even run at Epsom, unless im badly mistaken it looks like he is going to be nigh on impossible to place.

Have just read in the express today that if Authorised runs badly in the dante then Henry Cecil and Khalid Abdullah may supplement Passage of Time for the derby....surely not!!!

Archipenko must surely deserve serious consideration after pulling out a performance like that on his seasonal return, but I took 33/1 on both soldier of fortune and light shift a few weeks ago, and I'm happy with both. The latter in particular looks to have rock solid claims - they might look even better after the musidora, depending on how good (or not) passage of time performs...

i would love it, its a big ask but the current crop of derby colts are all pretty average and to see a filly win the derby would be something special. go henry go!!

It really is a wide open race. I suspect that a coolmore horse won't win the derby this year. They don't seem to have a stand out horse. yellowstone aint gonna win the derby, and I don't think archipenko is anything special. Salford Mill could be the one, unless Stoute has something up his sleave.

Where has this soft ground theory come from for Longchamp yesterday? If you look at the race times they suggest the going was no softer than good infact three of the times were above standard and the 5f sprint was over one and a half seconds better than standard.

A bit of rain falling doesn't automatically make the ground soft. Finsceal Beo had no excuse yesterday regarding the ground.

The ground is always soft at Longchamp. It was soft on Arc day last year when they ran the Abbaye in around 55 seconds doh

wasn't Fallon complaining that the ground was too lively for HR in the ARC last year??

I think he was yeah. I got burnt fingers that day. He got boxed in and had no where to go. It's unusual for Fallon to give a horse such a poor ride. Some might say he wasn't trying to win but I wouldn't want to be controversial....

I quite like the looks of Mores Wells although now his Ballysax win doesn't seem as impressive no that Macarther has run so poorly again.
Mores Wells ran tough at The Ballysax and beat tough front runner Fernely that day.
Mores Wells will probably have a bit more in the tank by June 2nd and well go off at a good price. He is heading straight to Epsom.
As for Cecil I can't believe ha would send Passgage of Time to The Derby. Although if he did it would suggest he believes Light Shift could do it for him in The Oaks maybe worth taking Light Shift now.

If anyone is interested I found this guide which seems pretty upto date. It has the latest on all The Derby horses and for The Oaks too.

v. unlikely according to his trainer that Mores Wells will take his place at Epsom, most likely engagement will be the Curragh
