Browse: Horse racing Chesterby computerizedirishred (U7210128) 08 May 2007 With the annual May meeting of Chester upon us,i was wondering has anyone any information or thoughts of stables etc to follow over the coming days. Barry Hills likes to plunder here and in years gone by Hollishead/Bailey and the likes, always had 1 or 2 horses to take attention of.D. Holland rides the track well. This year i like the look of Vujhon in the Lilly Agnes Stks, lighting fast from the stalls and good draw to boot,Admiral-last years winner in the Chester Cup makes his return and at 9/1 looks good value.Henry Cecil stable is rolling back the years, and producing the winners, has a good one in Light Shift,i also notice J P Spencer is taking in two meetings, at Chester then going on to ride at Beverley for Welsh trainer E Williams,I`m Sparticus the horse in question, won well latest over hurdles and trible entered this week on the flat--Any opinions-thoughts? U8024478 (U8024478) posted May 8, 2007 It is good to see Henry Cecil doing well and the fact he has the ante post favourite for The Oaks is great to see. Passage Of Time looked great when he won in Paris last autumn.Passage Of Time win in The Criterium de St.Cloud brought was Cecil's first Group One winner since 2000 with Beat Hollow. What does everyone think about this horse?

dalzielian (U8308082) posted May 8, 2007 Passage of Time is a filly. She is expected to run in the Musidora Stakes at York next week. My interpretaion is that she'll be @ 85% wound up and unless there is another decent entrant then she will come through and win. Connections have still to confirm whether she goes to Epsom or instead heads off again to France for the Prix de Diane. Her pedigree, IMO, does not scream 12 furlongs but it should be within her capabilities. If her stamina following next weeks's race is inconclusive then she may well head to Chantilly.

piggings (U6689649) posted May 8, 2007 Henry Cecil for me is the finest trainer of his generation (Sir Michael Stoute following closely behind). I still get goose bumps recalling some of the fantastic horses that he, through his great skills, was able to nurse to their full potential (Bosra Sham was a real favourite of mine). I hope Passage of Time does do the the business and Henry sets the flags flying at Warren Place one more time.

dalzielian (U8308082) posted May 8, 2007 I'm reliably informed when HRAC does have a really decent animal in his care that he's not frightened to train them really hard, if required. That may have been a contibuting factor to his estrangement with Sheik Maktoum. The truth of what happened there will only ever be known to those involved.

piggings (U6689649) posted May 8, 2007 Yes, the death of his twin devastated him for a while and the alleged activities of his former wife didnt help either. If it wasnt for all of that he would've been knighted by now.
