I honestly think Roeder is not the right man for the managers job at newcastle. The club is to big for him bring on big Sam to replace the man who took West Ham down.

I dnt believe all of newcastles bad results should land squarely on Roeder's shoulders. The players have 2 take some of the responsiblity considerin most of them earn more in a week than I do in a year. For next season, only Steven Taylor should remain from the defence. Hopefully wit wigan gettin relegated nxt week we can get leighton baines for left back & if WBA dnt get promoted we can get curtis davis 2 play center half wit taylor. An experienced center half and a new right bk would complete the team because the midfield and attack is creative enough. They just dnt have the confidence due 2 the ram shack defence behind them.

The problem with Newcastle at the minute is that FFS is just interested in one thing. Making the fans satisfied temporarily. He spends big money on wastes of space in the transfer window to make the fans happy, then these players are no good so he sacks the manager to compensate for these rubbish players such as Luque and Boumsong. However, I don't think that Roeder is the right man for the job because it's too big for him. Get Allardyce as manager and put Glenn either back on the rserves coaching staff or as a director or assistant coach or something, THEN we might get somewhere!

It's a shame I like Roeder but I think hes a bit out of his depth in a huge job like this. I hope that he gets sacked but gets a job back at the academy or something. I think that he did well when we were struggling with injuries but we can't forget the humilating 5-1 at home to birmingham. Our home record has dipped a lot, st james' used to be a place to fear so we really need to show our support next season. I don't know if Allardyce is the right man though I think his style of football would be despised at Newcastle but then again who is the right guy to take over? Not Keegan. I would personally love to see Bobby back even though hes getting on a bit.

I think Roeder is an honest man but I don't think he's the right man for the job. He's too much out of his depth. He should be sacked but I hope he gets another job within the club such as Reserve Team Coach or Director of Football or something like that. However, I DO NOT want Sam Allardyce to replace him - his style of play will not suit Newcastle! Instead I would seriously consider appointing a foreign manager who has a good reputation - possibly someone like Louis Van Gaal, who knows the game inside out.

Yeah great lets sack another manager, have another season while the new manager 'puts his stamp on the team' and in the mean time well ave another season in the bottom half of the league, do u not think its hard for GR to show passion if everyone wants him out?even if we beat blackburn 4-0 people would still complain nd want him out.

Give him another season, let him bring in the players he wants, to be fair he hasnt made any bad signings Duff's form could b questioned but was a bargain at 5mill nd im sure he will come good, y do u wanna see big Sam in charge? the last thing i want is a team of has beens(campo etc) and backroom staff that could fill st james' park. Im fed up of newcastle gettin rid of managers and us having to put up with seasons like this 1, dyer is lookin good owen is finally playing football martins has banged in 17goals this season parker is just amazing milner is getting better, Taylor is a promising talent and that Gooch looks alrite why cant we look at the positives back GR to bring in sum full backs nd a centre half once this is dun we will be back in europe.. dont forget how good GR was while he was 'caretaker' if it wasnt for that final push we wdnt ave been in europe at all ok it was only the intertoto but we had a good campaign and we all know we should ave gone thru against AZ

If FS is thinking about replacing him i think it should Claudio Ranieri he was quality at chelsea and ddnt deserve the sack as for big Sam i dont see what he has to offer other than a huge wage bill paying for his analysts nd shrinks

I genuinely think Roeder would be a genuinely good manager at a club without much ambition, a side that would be happy just to escape relegation. He's not right for a club like ours that should be challenging for the top four. The job is too big for him. Ranieri or Allardyce have to be the choice if Roeder does get the boot. A lot of people are saying that if Big Sam does arrive at St. James', then suddenly we would have a team of has-beens. Not true. Sam was only forced to pick players like this because of the minimal budget he lived to at Bolton. At a club like Newcastle, where to be fair, FFS is always willing to part with cash, Allardyce may be able to make big signings with players worthy of a starting place. The only time he had money at Bolton, he didn't make many very small signings, he splashed the cash on Nicolas Anelka, a quality player. He could do this type of thing 2 or 3 times a season at the toon. Add to this his mix of players with experience, promising youngsters and the selection of players who already have talent at our club, Big Sam can build a formiable premiership force.

"roeder makes me soooo angry when he always refers to injury!"

Exactly, he's spent most of the season saying he wasn't using injuries as an excuse, thereby ensuring that everyone thinks about the injuries when they think about how dismal we have been. The oddest thing is how we, at times, played better during the injury crisis (Man Utd on New Years day anyone?).

Many people are saying Roeder should get a chance....I disagree

For starters he has managed 3 previous clubs West Ham, Watford and Chesterfield. He took all 3 down. He keeps commenting on how proud he was of what he accomplished at west ham. Yes some good players were brought through but he still got them relegated. Many West Ham fans to this day say it was one of the best squads they had, had at Upton Park in many a year.

We are now looking at players from teams that are to be relegated to 'improve' our squad.

Can't really see us challenging for anything in the near future and I am sick of it.

I've just heard an interview with glenn roeder saying he hopes to get the defence sorted in the next season or TWO, and that this season was not his fault because any manager would have struggled with the injuries he had.

I beg to differ, I think that Wenger, Ferguson and Mourinho have all had some terrible injuries this season and yet seem to have done ok.

Roeder CHOSE to reduce an already depleted squad in the close season by getting rid of more players than he brought in.

Roeder CHOSE to have only one fit r/b and l/b and instead bought a winger (because we really needed another one didnt we? ha ha ha)

Roeder Chose to buy only one striker after he knew Owen would be out for the season.

Roeder Chose to leave out a guy that averages a goal every 3 games in luque and to hardly give the zog a chance and to sub Milner at every opportunity.

On top of the lack of foresight, he has shown that he knows very little about tactics. I believe he has cost us serious points this season. I think that if he had played Luque, and Nzogbia and had bought a right back, left back and another striker either in january or in the last close season we would have had a very good season this year.

He didn't and we are now talking about him doing next season what he should have already of done at the beginning of this season.

Glen is not the problem at Newcastle United. The club is badly managed from the top. Newcastle need a plan - they have never had one, everything is done by knee jerk reaction and to keep the fans quiet. The club needs a chairman, a manager and a strengthened squad that befits the money it has spent and the fans who support it. Sam Allardyce coming in would be tantamount to saying we are a mid table team happy with staying in the premiership - I know 50,000 people who don't agree with that. Sort it out...
