2000 Guineas

I have it down to 4.

Diamond Tycoon, Major Cadeaux, US Ranger and Strategic Prince.

Diamond Tycoon is a bit inexperienced and just a maiden winner whilst I feel Major Cadeaux may turn out more effective at distances less than a mile. Strategic Prince was beaten fair and square in the Dewhurst but is a cracking each way choice at 7/1. My selection is US Ranger who is unbeaten in 3 runs ranging from 7 to 8 furlongs, has been supplemented for the race and wont mind the ground on breeding even though he has only raced on soft, priced at 5/1 get on !!

Any comments welcome !!

Pretty gutted, i was watching the race in the pub...when the horses were parading i said to my mate...cockney rebel will win this....didnt bother backing it tho...i thought it had no chance at 25-1 :'( ive come to see that all the big hype races ...ther is only one winner ...the bookies. just take the national for example...im guna start laying highly backed horses in big events from now on....

the question is though...would Teofilo of won?/

Well the Dewhurst form didn't work out well at all. But Eagle Mountain got beat by him in the Futurity Stakes, and Eagle Mountain came 5th, and finished less than half a length behind both Vital Equine and Cockney Rebel in the Champagne Stakes.

I didn't understand the hype about Teofilo, and never once did I consider backing him. I don't think he would have won.

Very strange race butone I think that will work out well. I firmly believe that the far side were inconvenienced and though it is doubtful he would have won, Dutch Art would have been a bit closer to Cckney Rebel.

The fact Vital Equine was able to set such a strong pace and still be there at the finish shows the ground may well have been slightly quicker.

Roll on Royal Ascot when all the questions hopefully will be answered.

The question is how can I recoup my Typhoon loses in the 1000 guineas?

I had cockney rebel at 25-1 £5.00 e way few weeks ago as when i was a kid my dog was called rebel and i likes the group, went to guineas today what a great race good horse, lets hope breeders use his sire more now val royal who himself won breeders cup mile and is standing at national stud at newmarket. i believe cockney rebel was from his first or second crop of foals lets hope that cockney rebel goes on to greater things.

Finscail Beo. No doubt about it.

Todays 1000 guineas,I am really angry at the fact that I had backed Sanders Camillo at anti-post odds only to find now that it is not running due to the fact of it still being in season, is it right for punters to loose money on a lame excuss, if trainers enter a horse for any race then they should have a vets report before they can pull it from a race. Far to many times has this happened when trainers can pull a horse whenever they feel like it, well this should be made more harder for them to do this and give the punters a chance for once.

I was on Cockney Rebel with a small bet after reading the very positive comments being made by his connections on the RP site in the days leading up to the race, combined with his good 2-y-o form and breeding (Known Fact at maternal grandsire).

The vibrations about Cockney Rebel were similar to those around Philson's Run before he came 4th in the Grand National. And both could be supported at attractive prices.

Erm.....what? The horse is in season. Say you're a woman. Would you want to run in the marathon if you were ovulating? My god. So what you've lost some ante-post money.

1. Should teach you to never bet ante-post. Look what happened with Holy Roman Emperor and Teofilo.

2. Does your £10 matter more than the welfare of the horse?

3. Is very likely they will have a vet's certificate. The rules almost stipulate you need to have one to withdraw your horse.

4. If you want your money back, back Finscail Beo. Sander Camillo would never have won anyway, doesn't stay a mile.

What does that mean? I should back a horse because the connections said something which is similar to what was said about Cockney Rebel?
