Gerrard teed up Agger's opener

Liverpool booked their place in the Champions League final with a dramatic penalty shoot-out win in the semi-final second leg at Anfield.

Dirk Kuyt scored the crucial spot-kick to clinch a 4-1 win after Arjen Robben and Geremi missed for the Blues.

Daniel Agger cancelled out Chelsea's first-leg lead in the first half with a crisp finish from Steven Gerrard's superbly disguised left-wing free-kick.

Kuyt also rattled the bar with a fine header after the break.

Give your thoughts on the match. Did the right team win? Who was the star performer? Will Liverpool become kings of Europe again?

You should think a bit before you speak too. If you think that pass pass pass pass pass is boring then the Liverpool team that won so many trophies in the 70s and 80s was boring too. It seems to work quite well for Milan too.

Spot on. But it's also about how you pass and in what direction and at what speed. Watching the 70s Liverpool side was like watching a pinball machine. The trouble with a lot of teams these days is that they don't move the ball fast enough.

I can think of at least 4 Liverpool managers (coaches) who are greater than Mourinho.

West Ham supporter.

well to be fair liverpool and benitez have spent a fortune and only won in a cup competition which does not actually demonstrate who is the best....the league is the best indicator...and liverpool are nowhere near winning that or even coming second...

hmm...lets see

agger - 6m
bellamy - 7m
Pennant - 7m
Kuyt - 10m
arbeloa - 3m
crouch - 7m
josemi - 2m
Alonso - 11m
Morientes - 7m
Reina - 6m
Sissoko - 5m
Aurelio - 2m

equals 73million!!! not a lot!?

and thats not to mention Garcia, Gonzalez, Aurelio, masherano...whose fees are undiclosed but would easily total in excess of 10 million...

Obviously compared to Chelsea this doesn't seem much but you have to understand that it's one price for Chelsea and one price for everyone else...since the utd scum were taken over its the same for them too and will now be the same for you but yes 73 million is a lot of money on players! and can't even get close to the top 2 in the league?

2) RUCKING WITH RIISE - Last time I checked, the redirection of an opposing player was against the rules. (By the way you made a typo when entering your user name, but forgiven as the R is next to the F on the keyboard)

Lifelong Liverpool fan, and the best smile of the day, was on the BBC blog this morning, when the Chelski fans, and the Mancs were trying to have a go, one MU supporter ( probably with a southern accent ) had a dig at the Pool, and a Scouser wrote the following reply '' If you want to beat AC Milan, I can recommend a good DVD ''
Priceless!!!

Think this just proves that "scouse wit" is actually a contrdiction in terms.
