Man Utd go five points clear

Chelsea Manchester United
comment on the article
Man Utd v Chelsea

Leaders Manchester United and Chelsea took centre stage in the Premiership on Saturday as the race for the title reached a critical stage.

They both kicked-off at 1245 BST, with Chelsea being held 2-2 by Bolton and United coming from 2-0 down to beat Everton 4-2 at Goodison Park.

Chelsea are now five points behind with three games remaining.

What did you think of the matches? Have Chelsea missed their chance or will Man Utd blow their lead in spectacular fashion?

I think the answer to your question lies in the fact that we won the Premiership and Chelsea didn't.

We won it because we had an equally good defence, with equally bad injuries, and scored a lot more goals.

We also reached the semi finals of the Champions League and the final of the FA cup.

We play very different football and our style has been more effective this season: why?

BECAUSE WE ARE THE BETTER TEAM!

The table doesn't lie.

"with equally bad injuries"

I agree that you played the best football, but losing the two main GK's is for sure one of the worst things that can happen to a team, specially if it is during the same game...
Any team who plays with Hilario as a GK in the PL and still fights for the title deserves a lot of credit.

>>with equally bad injuries

I don;t buy that

JCole and Robben were out for almost the entire season. Those are the only 2 interesting attacking mids they have.

If Giggs and Ronaldo were out for an equal amount you'd have a point.

Yawn...... you're worse than a Chelsea fan.

Even when Robben was fit Mourinho didn't wanna play him.

Probably why it's muted that he's going to leave, due to lack of opportunities.

If anything, this season Mourinho has shown that he prefers a big machine like midfield no matter what he has at his disposal. Lump it to the front man. Wingers don't suit that.

Neither of them are a spot on Ronaldo and Giggs anyway.

did i say that or did you just put words in my mouth? don't stoop to such childish levels of retort that so many of your fellow scousers seem to enjoy.

i said they are not a spot on Ronaldo and Giggs. This doesn't mean they are crap, it just means they aren't as good as the best wingers in the league.

regardless of this point, being first choice winger for England doesn't really say much anyway - who's his competition? downing?

robben epitomises inconsistency - perhaps why mourinho doesn't play him. at least with big midfielders he can bully teams out of the game, even if they aren't that spectacular.

Jim,

Been away from the media for a while?

Do you think that teams give eachother guards of honour because they are five points in front?

No, MUFC are the premiership champions for the 9th time - which incidentaly, is more time than all the other winners put together
