Can Sri Lanka beat Australia? It seam they are unbeatable forever. Yeh One thing we should remember that no one last forever. So don’t afraid Sri Lankan fan. We are around you and we believe that only you can do lay down the head of Australian.

So far Australia played outstanding through out the tournament and everyone has been respected the performances of the wc. I like Australia for their good performance in the match. They take every match seriously. No matter who is against for? I like this attitude from them but I told in my other article that I didn’t like their attitude towards other team. Do you agree with me?

Apart from Australia, The Sri Lankan is very good as well in the field. I like them so much. Is it because of I am a Asian? Or is it something else? Yeh I go with second one because I believe that I like them only sake of their performance in the field.

aus., is a good team, but we always think that front side is best that y they r in the final, may be they r better than as, boz, in cricket one ball can change the hole game, may be my hitting six, or out from that again.

milinde007, that’s a very well written comment and I think you have a valid point about the lack of a friendly warning to Fernando. Koertzen could have handled the incident better. I don’t think, however, that the umpires had any ulterior motives, either behind that one, or the very poor dismissal decisions. After all, New Zealand suffered from them too and it hardly affected the outcome of the match.

The other umpire was Taufel, by the way, not Tufnell. I think “our Phil” would be an unlikely candidate for such a job.

Any road up, let’s hope there are no controversies in the final and that it’s a good game with a tight finish (for a change in an important match). The two best teams, by a mile, are in the final and I look forward to it.

Tricky question......Srilanka is a great side...But greater are the Aussies. Looking for a rematch of 1996 WC final at the Gaddaffi Stadium, located at the cricket frenzy Lahore city. But Aussies are a champion side now....They are more of a Goliath....But Goliath also was finally felled. All the best for the Lankans..But I root for Aussies. They play hard and perhaps harder than team in this world and I want the hardworking and forthrights to win. I love this team to the core...

Let's Look at the stats of the world Cup to understand who could win. Australia has 3 batsmen with an average over 70 (Clark Hayden Ponting). These players are in the first 4 batsmen. 1 with an average over 50 (Symonds)who the 5th batsman and 1 with an average over 30 (Gilchrist), who is the first batsman. Compare this with Sri Lanka. SL has nobody with an average over 70, 1 (Jayawardene) with an average over 60 and 2 (Silva,Jayasuriya) with an average over 40 and 3 (Arnold, Dilshan & Sangakkara) with an average over 30. Battingwise in the World Cup Australia is clearly superior.
Bowling wise Australia's top 4 bowlers (McGrath, Bracken, Hogg & Tate) have taken 83 wickets between them whereas SriLankas top 4 bowlers have taken only 61.
If Sri Lanka is going to win they will have to play extraordinarily well and Australia will have to play extraordinarily badly.
I don't see this happening to be honest.

Interesting comments on McGrath vs Vaas.

Most seem to put them 50:50 and this head to head article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/6595343.stm) rates them at 8 each.

One question: how is 13 wickets at 18 apiece anywhere near as good as 25 wickets at 13 apiece?
