West Indies v Bangladesh

One-day internationals West Indies
comment on the article

The meeting of the West Indies and Bangladesh in Barbados is a dead rubber in terms of the World Cup, but both sides will be going all out for victory.

The Windies have two games left, Bangladesh and England, to try and restore a little pride following four defeats in the Super 8s, but you feel that not even wins in these games will appease the fans.

The Tigers know that a heavy defeat will mean they finish bottom of the Super 8s table on run rate, below Ireland. But they have shown they can challenge the more established nations as victories over India and South Africa have proved.

Who do you think will emerge victorious?

Hobbs, BD is losing by <100. Some respect retained. Actually BD is leaving this tournament with great respect.

WI's performance will look more respectable if they beat ENG in the final match.

Yep, its been a great board today, really enjoyed chatting with everyone.
Been nice to have a good discussion about the game in general and the game as a whole without descending into schoolyard taunts (as much as those are fun too!)

Well its over.

And Bangladesh end at the bottom of the Super 8.

I suppose the most disappointed will be the Tigers themselves. They've just lost themselves $50,000 of prize money!

Was it that close that BD ended up at #8, for not scoring another 5 runs or so?

1840: A few predictions from 606 users:

"Hard to predict the outcome. WI is one of the weakest teams in the bowling dept. But, Taylor is back and he sometimes captures three or four wickets quickly. BD can't score at a brisk rate. They have the habit of going into a shell when one or two wickets fall early. Ashraful has been in great form." (SpeakingCivilised)

"129-169 all out" winkeye(Hiabar)

"225 all out off 50 overs, after being 223 for 6 of 49, and crumbling terribly" (E Cartman)

pull another stunning innings out of the bag" (Bear)

Is the report wrong...did Ireland come last?

Yes, I see that BD finished at #7 and Ireland at #8. That's a shame because IRE beat BD comfortably, but the run rate criterion comes before the result between the team two teams.

I checked ICC site as well. The finishing order is the same, BD at 7 and IRE at 8.
