Opposing fans can do nothing but admire! they cant have a go at the ref, they can't use the old diving jibe, there is simply nothing to say.
congratulations united that is how to send a message.
If this is the last ever football game that i were ever to witness i would be a happy man.

I have to disagree with the opinion that ronaldo was the best player on the pitch-there were several united players who deserved the credit for the fantastic result far more than him.
Smith: in the first 10 minutes or so of the game, United looked like they could be had. They were shaky and gave the ball away far too often. Smith's determination up front seemed to charge up both the fans and his teammates and united never looked back.
Carrick: distribution was very good and his goals were very well taken.
Heinze: put in a very gritty defensive performance
O'Shea: aquitted himself well considering he was continually left isolated because ronaldo refused to track back. When he was turned, Fletcher, who also had a very good game, was there to cover. It was a great team performance by united last night but I'm still not impressed with ronaldo. Yes he scored two goals but he seems to play for the back of the shirt. His success is built on the backs of his teammates who work very hard so that he can take the glory.

That was great. I'm a City fan but still, that was something to remember.
Watching it with my Utd fan brother - there was plenty of stick flying about pre-match (We watched it in the Salford Arms)but after 20 minutes the pub was half stunned half mental. No diving, no cheating just quality football and with quite a few British lads playing too.
We continually malign our players about being the poorer technical cousin of our continental neighbours. Tell that Doni at the chiropractors - he's brazillian and his team couldn't have produced anything better.
Hangover. Brilliant.

Ronaldo runs at people, creates havoc, scores goals, attracts opposition players out of position - that's his job. Other players have their job and part of their job is to give the ball to the likes of Ronaldo because they can't do what he can do. The opposition would be over the moon if Ronalo was pre-occupied with defending all afternoon.

AlBallftballgenius

I take your point but I think the attacking threat of the team as a whole is largely reduced because the backs are unable to move forward on the wing as much(as he will not cover for them) and the likes of giggs, ole, and rooney are forced to come back to cover defensively and so when the ball is recovered, the players that carrick and scholes would be seeking out with their passes are only a couple yards in front of them. Thus, united often looks bunched-up and seems to lack options moving forward. Also, if ronaldo is having a particularly poor game in terms of his ability to move forward and create, he is worse than useless because he is not a complete player and does not have a defensive or workman-like dimension to his game. United were able to win so convincingly last night in large part because roma did not make to much of an effort to move forward (with intent)after the first 10 minutes or so and as a result, the backline was not unduly pressured and so united was able to keep its width. That is not to take anything away from united though, who put on a sensational performance

First of all, as a Roma fan, let me say ManUtd deserves nothing but congratulations for their excellent performance last night.

Roma completely was out of the match. An incredible black-out that can mislead everybody about the real gap between the two sides. I think everybody can agree: let's play this match again and again, it will never never end 7-1 again.
I'm very happy to see how happy you are today: it means without any doubt that Roma, in your opinion, is a great team, and it means also that after the 1st leg you were a little bit worried, weren't you ?
So let's forgive all among you that don't actually show fair-play today: it's usual, we're fans, not diplomats. Just remember that after a game there's another game, after a season there will be another season, and in the next seasons, whether you're happy or not, Roma will be there, young team with the colours of the Empire, gold and purple, an Italian team without stripes on its jersey, just like the strongest English ones.
For smcferguson: the Pope was just born in Germany, currently he is the Bishop of Rome

Haha exquisite_uk. You accuse the United fans of being dim, but your dim enough to write 'there' wrong. 'There' suggests 'over there', when you clearly should have used the word 'their'. 'Their' is a possesive adjective and is clearly the only approprate word in this context. 'They're' is the other confusion, which is a shortened version of 'they are'.

It's not the United fans causing the problems: against Lille it was the frogs and in Italy it was the rubbish Italian police. Yesterday the glorious English police kept it under control. Hardly surprising
