Calzaghe, King of the world!

Firstly just like to say what an event saturday turned out to be for all the newbridge boys trained by enzo calzaghe! the atomsphere was aboslutley electric!

Down to buisness, manfredo hyped himself up for weeks as the next rocky/jake la motta, then when he hit reality in the ring with the man he realised he should stick to reality programs and leave the boxing for the rest of us! i can see what alot of people are saying that it was stopped a bit early but thats down to the referee, theres no doubt that if it wasnt stopped then the knock down was coming in the 4th or 5th. anyway the talk about calzaghe v taylor is exciting, when calzaghe wins this(as im confident he will) then america will finally bow down as recongise we have one of the greatest boxers ever in the name of Joe Calazghe! i think then kessler will be on the cards and if the two victorys come (as im sure they will) then joe should retire the king of the boxing world undsiputed!

Too right pumpkinboy, sure Inkin has a record that looks great on paper, but he's just not the name that the ducking welshman needs.

Also those saying that he could beat Kessler clearly are counting on him doing a manfredo and not throwing a punch...

All the names being thrown about are a moot point anyway, IF he does get a big name, he will most likely lose his nerve and have to withdraw due to a hand 'injury' again

Don't forget Berrio... could a unification for the IBF belt be on the cards?

The IBF unifcication wont happen wasnt that the belt joe gave up?

I think its clear that if Joe fights anybody bar Kesller,Taylor and perhaps hopkings its just going to be another one bites the dust and means nothing to america!! I think joe has done all he can and is top draw, if anybody wants to proove otherwise they need to come here and take the thrown off him, and thats never going to happen ever!

mr salvadorsanchezrip, I cant beleive you can label winky wright as too small of opposition for calzaghe, granted he may be a couple of divisions down but then so was hopkins before he faced tarver and look what happened, in my opinion calzaghe wouldnt hurt wright as his defensive pose his second to none and thats the fight i want to see.

If Joe's hands are shot as I have suspected for a long time, I think he should take on the big boys in his division now. After all he is not getting any younger. Clean them up one by one until your hands really finish you off and if not, retire undefeated. Go for the money now, while you can. God bless and good luck.
Once a fighter starts having trouble with his hands, it usually means that the end of his career in the ring is at an end. I sincerely hope this is not the case with Joe.
God bless and good luck Joe.

Incidentally, I think Joe could defeat all-comers.

But he is simply treading water by fighting Inkin.

He should be looking for big scalps, not facing mandatory challengers nobody cares about.

Inkin would be a much tougher test than the likes of Manfredo,Bika,Salem,Ashira etc etc.....
He is a genuine, top 10 super middle...a very rare thing in a Joe Calzaghe opponentok

Just because you have'nt seen Inkin in a pop video, reality tv show or cooking his favourite dish on ready steady cook, does'nt mean he can't fight.
I bet there are literally dozens upon dozens of quality fighters across all weight divisions, that half of the posters here have never heard of...that happens when your a fair weather fan and only take interest in the high profile fighters or what Frank Warren says!!

Joe knows hes faltering, to me he looks like an old man running out of steam and ideas. Hes clearly scared of Froch who would seriously injure Joe (I see Joe being sparked out by the massive power of Froch). Joe got the shock of his life against Bika (again another sign of him believing his own hype), and anyone like Bika ie tough, with some heart and some boxing ability (for a change) would beat Joe with little problem.

Joe your finished and the fight with Manfredo was a farce, even Warren looked ashamed and thats another first!
