MadbullMick (U6376704) posted Apr 10, 2007 Sad news to see a legend bow out on such unfortunate circumstances. Lets look on the bright side though and be thankfull that we have had such an awsome player to watch for the past 15 years.

Ssydneyken (U1013815) posted Apr 10, 2007 Its a great shame as he was truly one of the best players I have seen in 45years of rugby league. As for the best half back, well we all say Johns at an emotional time like this but personally I prefer Lockyer and neither were as good as Wally Lewis who wasn't as even close to the Great Alex Murphy, the best ever and no I'm not a Saints fan it's the Bulls for me. Just my humble opinion Ken

Arise Sir Ray! (U7933881) posted Apr 11, 2007 Sad for Johns' career to end in such a way he was a very good player but Murphy was outstanding. Alex Murphy must be the benchmark for grading players. If he was a ten then no one else has scored more than 8 yet.
