I Don't follow Sunderland, I don't follow any Championship teams but i cannot help but congradulate Sunderland and Roy Keane. Today i watched them for 2nd time this Season (On TV). Something about the Team, The Fans and the Manager just put a smile on my face.

Is this the same team that lost 5 of their first 6 games of the Season and where rock bottom? Because now they are 1st ... Absolutly amazing the changes a Manager can make.

Best of luck in coming up to the Premiership, And with all the signings you made,(if you come up) i reckon you can cope in the Premiership.

Good Luck Black Cats

"Masterstroke from Niall Quinn." Absolutely right! Sunderland go Irish. Always been a masterstroke. I grew up watching Charlie Hurley at Roker Park. The Stokoe and Reid eras were fantastic but I really think with Niall Quinn at the helm, and therefore Roy Keane and the Irish contingent on the field, we are seriously going places.
Very interesting remark about the ex-Ferguson boys now doing it in management but Keane also has the Clough dimension, doesn't he? So in a way he's come back to find his roots.
When Clough's playing career was finished at Sunderland, he asked to be Sunderland's manager but the board told him he was too inexperienced so he went off to do things at Hartlepool, Notts Forest and Derby. We Sunderland fans missed out on a fantastic time.
It just seems to me that Roy Keane will make up for our loss. I don't think he will leave to be Manchester United's next manager. I think he will do his own thing - ManU have already done it - so I think he will take Sunderland all the way. And he and all Sunderland fans can thank Niall Quinn and his "mastrerstroke".

It's going to be absolutely impossible to hold on to Keane, though. It's a saddening fact but once he has the club comfortable in the Premiership (whenever that may be), he will most certainly opt to go onto bigger, more challenging things (Man Utd).

But Man Utd, too, will most certainly face bereavement when he chooses to manage - and I expect bring huge success to - the Republic of Ireland.

Either way, brilliant character, focused mind and one-off talent. I sincerely wish the best for him, wherever he may be.

In a way, isn't Man Utd less of a challenge because they are already at the top?

He is nothing less than brilliant... his post match interview was so calm and collected, commenting on the fact that we didn't play too well, which we didn't! But second half we were top class, esp. after going a goal down.

With a transfer kitty of possibly £30m next season, who know's what can happen? Remember Blackburn 12 years ago??

In one sense, £30 million is huge....

...in another, it's one or two top players.

If Gareth Bale's £10m it won't buy any top players.. he was crap. I've seen more authentic 'closing down' efforts at ScS..
